you guys are terrific!

momofmuff potterfan got her letter out to missmuff this afternoon. Sent some advice and words of encouragement. I am sure more will follow. That po box number is very easy too.

I'd say send the list off to me, but I will give them kind (really!) words to them when I see them. :)

Hey all, we just received our first letter from Missmuff! Very positive, funny stories of meal time faux pas, being "not so gently" corrected. She did admit that tears flowed like a river at Chapel and that her feet hurt all the time!

Ahh, big sigh of relief. Although the photos look grim, she appears to be retaining her sunny disposition. PTL.

Okay I have my goody packages ready to go off in the mail tomorrow, if anyone knows anybody that wants one, pm or post because I can still make more!

Sorry to be a killjoy, Pima, but the basics can't receive anything but letters until after BCT.

just to reiterate what others have said, jokes are money. Especially one-liners b/c we had a lot of stupid stuff to remember. So pleeease send letters to the basics and include JOKES. It sucked so bad to not have any letters when we went to check mail!

Thanks Petko...Doesn't matter, nothing will melt, SO OFF THEY GO INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER!. AT least they will have packages waiting for them to dive into. Bullet wants me to pack them up and send to hornet as leverage...ain't happening

I can see it now G4C, hornet, potter, falcon and you having a party with the goodies...laughing at these poor little souls sleeping on top of their beds, while you chow down on rice crispy treats, oreos, nerd ropes, blow pops, corn nuts, mentos, gum and more gum!

Hornet, you know we adore you, but I also made a package for you...so as soon as any of them see the return address, they will hit you up! :p

Petko, G4C, Potter, Falcon, if I missed anyone I'm sorry...you still have time to get in for a box of goodies!

I really wouldn't send food/candy at this point. It will not get delivered...even late. I think it is a rare cadre that will keep it for later....most will eat it themselves or throw it out. Waste. On very rare ocassion will it get delivered...but then it will hae to be "divided" and dividing a package EQUALLY is a fun task for a Basic over his squad or flight.

:) I'll be excited to get some goodies when I get back! Muchos Gracias Pima! ;) Don't send me their packages, too tempting to munch on an oreo while they're getting ready to be trained. ;) Kidding of course, that would be REALLY cruel. Like the cadre chowing on ice cream by me on my I-day. lol

I am a MOM and too smart to send them to you, Bullet being a DAD loves to torment. It would be like sending a gift with do not open on it, eventually you have to peek :)

Can you send me the addresses?

Does anyone know of a basic still in need of mail? I have a ton of cards now, and since I have bribed my mail carrier (with cookies and ice tea), I don't even have to go to the Post office to mail them!

My son just wrote me there is a basic in his flight who still has not received a single letter. He also said the cadre are being real tough on him. My son asked if I could "show him some love" and send him some good mail. If anyone wants to help in this mission, send me a pm. Thanks!

Anymore? As of this afternoon, I sent letters to all of the addresses I was given (as recently as last night). Most of them went out about a week ago, but the rest went out today. :)

Found a card at the BX the other day with a cartoon servicemember sitting on the ground eating an MRE (Meal Rejected by Everyone) saying "Got Food?" on the inside it says please send some I'm hungry. Potter is going to send it to one of the Basics while she is at CST foraging for anything she can find. Hopefully the Cadre will let it slide.
