I’ve recently visited the williston northampton school and brooks school, they both look amazing. Can anyone tell me which school is better and and any details about them? Any comments are welcome.

@doriswong741: I suggest you use the search function at the top of the page. Input the name of each school in turn and see what information is already on this board. Then you may want to check out boardingschoolreview.com to see if either school suits your needs/wants… then return here and ask more specific questions. In terms of academics
Again, I repeat my suggestion. The answer may already be here – but it never hurts to work a little to get what you need.

I would say Brooks will have the stronger academics. Look at the school website, their science internship programs, for instance.

I would disagree that Brooks is that much stronger academically, but do agree it is probably stronger in some areas like Pelican Dad says. They are very different schools, each with its own strengths, but both will serve you very well academically. I do think Brooks has a bit more name recognition and prestige in certain circles, bit Williston is a very strong school with some great programs and wonderful academics. In my mind it comes down to the environment, fit and culture.
I think most kids would fairly quickly gravitate to one over the other, so looking at both in depth is a good first step.
Are you not able to go to revisit days? I don’t know anything about Williston, so I can’t comment on that, but I have to say that when we visited Brooks for the open house, we were not impressed by the theater program. We spent awhile talking to the head of the theater program, and were underwhelmed by the number of students participating in the plays/musicals and the ability of younger students to get roles. My daughter is coming from a school where the head of theater is really great about encouraging kids to get involved and finding a way for everyone who really wants to be involved to have at least some role. That was not the sense that we got of the Brooks program, and that was a big turnoff for my daughter.
Can you ask him if you can go to revisit days? That should help a lot! What is his rush?
I got accepted to both schools and I love them. It is really a hard decision and my dad wants me to decide which school I’ll go to within 2 days. Please help me get through this really tough situation.
