That sound ****ing fantastic mate. Are there any pictures of our beloved hall?

Ouuuuuuu THe more the merrier. Wilson :D

Freshmen in Clapp? narrows eyes

Just kidding! :P

I'm in 1937 too this year but I know the 7 person suite you're talking about only by name. You should pm the ex residents on facebook and find out what it's like - that's what one of mysuitemates did last year.

Well i found some pictures of clapp ... Pity it doesn't look anything gothic :p

I have a feelin we're gonna have one ****ing grand time :D. Is clapp the best in wilson or something? It doesn't exactly look all that spiffy...

Oh, spiffy doesn't even begin to capture the vision that is '27-Clapp  It's not gothic, but at least your dorm is identifiable. It's one of the better examples of modern architecture on campus. I'll try to sneak in and take some pictures of some of the open rooms (including yours) soon.

I put up some pictures on the facebook group of the exterior, but the interior is what makes it awesome (although the fact that it's not a pink-brick...box helps too). The rooms are amazing. By far the best in Wilson, imo. Most of the other dorms have crooked hallways which can make things kind of antisocial if you're not in a suite (and even if you're in a suite, you might not get to know the other people on your hall unless you really get out there and randomly knock on doors) whereas in Clapp the halls are straight and rooms are easily accessible. Plus the numerous amenities that are also listed on the group really add to the spirit of the building. I really don't think it can be beat, although Feinberg certainly tries :p

And sucha, no worries. You said you'd make the slumber/UNO parties a part of your year next year. I'm holding you to that. This is my serious face. For serious.

rara_avis: you are one of my roommates!

Heh, I would say Clapp is much nicer than Feinberg (which smells like laundry detergent every day). Youre really lucky to be in Clapp. But Wilson isnt bad, just be thankful you arent in butler or the forbes addition. Wilson has the best location by far, and you will be thankful at 10 pm in December when its 0 degrees outside

Hey! I'm in Feinberg! ...and allergic to detergent...damn!

haha its really just the stairwell that smells really bad like detergent (but theres an outdoor entrance to all the feinberg rooms which is nice). Haha, hope I didnt give you a wrong picture, feinberg is very nice, clapp is just nicer. ur lucky to be living in feinberg

so is 1938 basically the crapper of wilson? im in 115 which is an 8 person suite w/ 4 bedrooms and a common room... anyone know nething about it? will it be wicked awesome? finally, how does the whole laundry thing work?

1938 isn't the crapper of Wilson since it looks just like four other buildings in the college, but the only thing that does kind of suck for it is that it's located off the main Wilson quad (behind 1927-Clapp). That said, it does have its own courtyard which can be a nice social space. Your suite experience will be what you make it, but they can end up being crazy fun (especially if you're not in a sub-free dorm, so 1938 will be nice).

Laundry is free and can be done in either Feinberg or 1927-Clapp (the latter of which is closest to you). When those are filled (which they usually are), Wilsonians usually venture to either the Patton laundry room located in the basement of that building (which has more washers/dryers since it's an upperclass dorm) or the Lourie-Love or 1915 laundry rooms in Butler.

Laundry is by far the worst part of the college experience, heh. There's a laundry service run through Student Agencies if you think it'll be too big of a headache.

1938 is a really great building. Best part by far is that you will not have a separate room key to get into your actual room, your prox serves as your room key. If you want to be more social, just prop the door open, but my roommates and I thought it was a great building. Other things about '38:

you're way close to Wilcox so when it rains or snows, you have barely any walking time to get there

laundry is in Clapp, but you (especially being in 115) won't have to walk down stairs/ride the elevator to get there since laundry is in the basement

the courtyard is really nice, especially for studying in the fall and spring

though you won't be in Clapp, you'll always know of something's going on there if you want to go

if you and your roommates want to throw a party, you have a great room for it, though honestly, your sleeping situation leaves something to be desired since your rooms are fairly small

you will have your own bathroom, which my roommates and I enjoyed, but you will have to clean it.

you're living next to the asst. master, but last year she was pretty cool with the guys who lived there.

Hi.
What's 131 Gauss Hall like?
And how do you find out how many roommates you have?

https://rooms.princeton.edu/Login.php

Check to see if your room has been reviewed. Also has links to the floorplans. Roomates should be in your Princeton Housing Packet. erickangnz, yours looks like a single.

Knowing housing makes September seem so much closer!
