Wilson College

Are there any singles? Does it have AC/ good internet connection? What else should I know about it?

THanks!

There are singles, but it’s unlikely you’ll be in one. The things that you should know about Wilson are:

It’s the most centrally located college.

It’s the ugliest college.

It has a lot of 8-person suites.

Its dining hall was recently renovated.

It has no A/C.

A lot of people are disappointed to be put in Wilson because it’s not the gothic Princeton they imagined, but after a while (read: a few late nights on the Street), you start to appreciate the convenience and care less about the architecture.

what about mathey?

the one good thing about wilson college is that it can’t possibly get any worse! also, the big suites make it easy to make friends

alright guys, how do i transfer out

I wasn’t thrilled initially about Wilson either, but some of the residential halls don’t look too bad (Walker comes to mind), and the convenience is definitely a plus. I’m way closer to the athletics facilities I’ll be at twice a day than some of my future teammates. Being near Frist is also a plus.

Wilson is the most social and fun college from what I’ve observed. It has the best facilities, including its own nightclub, Blackbox. Everyone hangs out in Wilson. I saw it during preview, and it looked very nice, recently renovated. I wanted Wilson.

Wilson is definitely not recently renovated, but I really enjoyed being there. The large suites makes it a very social place and its really centrally located. I don’t think I walked more than 100 yards to any of my classes freshman fall.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

Looks like I got assigned to Gauss. Good news or bad news?

See for yourself:

hey when we look at the floorplans, on this website

https://facilities.princeton.edu/housing/u/floorplans/

what is the B stand for on the floor plan? like theres a number, and then right next to it, numberB.

Is 1938 Hall remotely gothic in architecture? I’ve tried to find pictures but no luck. Any insight from anyone?

no, walker is the only gothic building in wilson

The B attached to the room number is your closet.

So what’s the ‘best’ house (be that for whatever criteria you have as your number 1) at Princeton?

Has anyone here been to Gauss Hall? Does its view suck (because of the parking lot)? Is it usually pretty quiet at night?

The view is pretty lousy because it’s surrounded by other buildings and the parking lot. 211 Gauss has traditionally been one of the biggest party rooms on campus (2 story 11 person suite), but last year it was sub-free, and I’m pretty sure it is this year too. If so, then things should be pretty quiet.
