Wimbledon

anyone follow tennis?

I don't think Roger is going to win it this year. Not Andy Murray, he's all hype. I'm rooting for Djoker, but he chokes at big time moments. Del Potro is still out.

Probably Rafa.

Federer almost lost.

Men’s final: Fed v. Rafa.

I’m thinkin’ Rafa’s gonna win Wimby in five.

who’s your pick for the women’s side thrill?

Federer will take advantage if you give him the opportunity. And I like how he’s calm even though he’s down 2 sets. It’s usually the opponent who’s pressured to close him out. That’s what I like about him.

I don’t really follow the women’s much, but I’m rooting for Wozniacki.

I think that Serena will win.

[Federer averts upset in 1st round at Wimbledon - Tennis - Yahoo! Sports](http://sports.yahoo.com/tennis/news?slug=ap-wimbledon)

Fed’s God Mode has been broken.

I smell major, major, and I mean, major upset soon. … .-___-

^ Right now, among the top dogs, only Rafael Nadal, Soderling (both are clay-oriented players) and Del Potro (who is out) are capable of upsetting him in the later stages. So if there’s an upset, I would bet on the lower ranked player (bottom of the top 10). Someone in the likes of Marin Cilic who’s tall (to cover the entire baseline), who can serve, and who can hit monstrous forehands.

And everyone’s so focused on Fed that we almost overlooked Davydenko, who also came back from 2 sets down and won a 9-7 thriller in the 5th. I think he’s a dark horse in this tournament.

edit: Marin Cilic just lost, there’s goes another one.

Rafa has this easily.

And even though Fed had a tough first match, I wouldn’t count him out of it. Everyone has bad days…

Epic Roddick vs Federer final to repeat.

I think Roddick or Nadal. Even though Federer has been shown to be mortal today, I think players still need a certain mindset to beat Federer. Last year’s final really showed Roddick that he can win this tournament, and that he’s just as good as Federer (at least on grass). Also, you can never count Nadal out because he puts so much effort in the game and he almost always plays his hardest.

Just my two cents though.

meh, never been a fan of Roddick, when his serve isn’t falling, he’s as good as your typical club player

also I believe Roddick is in the same bracket as Federer, along with Novak Djokovic

Rafa might win. I used to root for Federer but now I don’t support anyone.

I just don’t want Petey’s record to be broken :)

What about the women’s side?

To be honest I’ve never really been a big fan of Federer. I respect him as a player but I don’t know why I’m not a big fan of his like all of my friends are. I’m hoping Nadal can pull out another win!

Not a giant fan of Roddick either honestly, but he does have a game suited towards grass I must say. If he is in the half with Federer and Djokovic, he knows that they can be beaten this year, they both went to 5 sets yesterday. I honestly like Nadal, he plays with a lot of spirit and I bet he could win again.

Women’s will probably be one of the Williams sisters again. Henin hasn’t been playing enough to win this year I think, she’ll be a competitor in the next couple of years though.

Didn’t Federer break Petey’s Majors record already?

I think Rafa and Federer can meet again in the final, with Rafa taking it.

I think he beat Sampras in number of grand slams won, not wimbledon championships though. I could be wrong on that.

COME ON ANDY RODDICK.

The guy better win, what a boss :D

I’m rooting for Nadal… but I really wish Del Potro was not injured. He was a beast and I was so happy for him last year.

17 is correct, Sampras holds the record for the most Wimbledon men’s titles

19: I know. I wish him a speedy recovery. He’s the only one other than Rafa that can pose a major challenge to Fed IMO, especially during the big matches.
