Window Air Conditioner

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody knew the policy regarding these.

The RPS website stated that you must have a medical form completed stating that you need a unit due to your condition and that the cost of installation would be $300. However, a friend recently called me and said that she was staying in Read, had contacted someone at the dorm, and they told her that you did not need a form stating you had a medical need for one, as well as, that it would only cost $100-200 for installation.

I was considering purchasing a unit for my room, but I would like to know if anybody else can confirm what my friend told me. It seemed odd to me that the information provided by the website and what someone who works at a dorm would contradict each other.

Thanks!

My orientation leader talked to us about getting these doctor’s notes for “medical need”. It seems like you really do need a note, but pretty much anyone can have the necessary medical problems to get said note.

Ah, that was one thing I heard about the medical notes, something like allergies was good enough to get you one. I could probably get one if I really wanted, but I am not certain whether I’ll get around to it. Thanks for your input though!

Roy, I looked at all threads started by you; I failed to see any serious topic. Even if you truly had a serious topic, I doubt you would have much luck telling me about it in a thread concerning whether or not I’ll have an air conditioner.
