I'm doing a project for history and I need to send a 30 minute video to my friend. However, on my computer, the video keeps coming up in windows media player. If I send this to my friend who has a macbook, would she be able to downloaded? If not, how should I go about sending this file to my friend?

She could download it, but she wouldn’t be able to play it.
What you need to do is to find wmv/avi to mp4 converting software. I use DVDVideoSoft.

I am able to run Windows Media Player on my Mac.

Go to this Microsoft site to download WMP for Mac:
Experience the Power of AI with Windows 11 OS, Computers, & Apps | Microsoft Windows;

Use VLC. Works great and it’s free too.

[VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player](Official download of VLC media player, the best Open Source player - VideoLAN)

Seconded. VLC plays EVERYTHING, including corrupted files and formats you’ve never heard of.
