windows or mac??????

which one do you all think works better at dartmouth? have you heard of anyone having any bad experiences with either one? please try and convince me as I am on the fence between the 2. thanks so much.

Also, I am planning in majoring in econ.

It really won’t matter, just go with whatever you prefer. You’ll hear from the mac fanboys and the window’s fanboys on this one, but quite simply, they’ll function the exact same as far as network useage. I like my Sony vaio, but my mac’s alright too.

I had a PC between the ages of like 3 (when all I could do was play Solitaire and those silly CD-ROM games for kids) and 15 (when I got a Mac). All things considered, I’d get a Mac, because it gives you the best of both worlds: you get the Mac styling and OSX, but if for some reason you ever needed to use a PC program, you can easily fire up Bootcamp or Parallels and run Windows right there on your Mac.

Just my 2 cents :]

Desktop - Windows

Laptop - Mac all the way

I used windows till I came here, and got a Macbook from Dartmouth. I wake up every morning and pat it lovingly where it lies on my desk.

My son who is a '10 has been very happy with his mac.

D is now joined at the hip with her mac and hates that she has gone back to windows for her work life.

Son runs both, music, etc., on his old pc; school stuff on his Mac. Mac would be his preference for school work.
