I've been getting postcards and little letters from UPENN throughout the admission process saying stuff like "Just to keep your interest, we would like you to know about BLAH BLAH BLAH (notable alumni, upenn statistics, etc)."

My friends father (who is a penn alum) says that's a "wink" letter, but i'm not sure if it is...and I don't think penn sends wink letters also...

anyway, he got my hopes up, because he told me those letter (winks) mean that you are 90% in, and that most colleges send them so they can keep your interest in their particular institution in order to deter you committing to other colleges that send you acceptance letters earlier...

I'm SO CONFUSED! DId anyone else get these?

The first letter I received says, "Thank you in showing your interests at UPENN...until you receive our admission decision, please feel free to contact the undergraduate admissions office with any questions...We believe that you and countless other senior class members have worked diligently in exemplifying the characteristics that make up the student body at UPENN all throughout your highschool careers...thank you"

the second one says, "Did you know that UPENN has many esteemd alumni making waves all across the globe? Check the Penn Alumni webpage to find out more (then it lists the address)"

the third one says, "Did you know that UPENN's financial services are considered to be one of the most helpful and gracious financial aid programs in the country? If your parents [income] make less $100,000..."

these were all sent to me on postcard-sized letters from the undergraduate admissions office from the college...

but i'm definitely not going to fret over this...gjajale, nickbarr, i'm taking your guys' advice and am just going to "wait for another day." that's the only thing I can do..

Oh, and i don't think anyone else should worry about this...i'm definitely sure that i'm not going to make it to UPENN just because of my SAT & GPA stats so these letters probably don't mean anything...
