Agree with all those things, it is a great school. Lots of Chicagoland students go there, even more wanted to go there (it’s getting much more difficult to get in). Biggest downside: too cold for 9 months out of the year, at least for me!

I love their student union on the lake. DH taught sailing there when he was at UW. Madison is a great town. It reminds me of Austin before it exploded.
I moved from Madison to Austin in 1980. Sure was nicer then and now–unrecognizable.
I lived in Austin until 1986, when I was 24. We had to move for work. I’m kind of glad now.
My husband grew up in Madison but he has no family left there now. We visited recently for his 50th high school reunion, but we really have to reason to go there again, sadly.
