Im just curious....what is the town like?? Ive been to NC several times but ive never passed through the town....also is WFU secluded from the town or is it right there in the middle of it?? I was wondering becuase all of the pictures and stuff that ive seen of the campus it seems to be this mysterious looking secluded area in the middle of a....*wait for it...."forest"...(soo cliche...i know lol) is this a misconception or is it just one of those things that you just have to visit to find out??

wake forest is one of the nicest campuses EVER. it's got green, its got nice buildings, but it also has a good modern vibe. and no, i don't go there or want to go there :)

Well the campus is nice, but it doesn't have a "town" in the sense that Chapel Hill has a town. Wake is secluded from downtown Winston-Salem, which I haven't explored much of, but is said to be "artsy". Luckily there is lots to do on campus and people have told me you really don't have to leave campus because there will always be something going on.

Perhaps the only thing that I don't like about Wake Forest is the necessity to be in a car to go places off campus. Unlike at Chapel Hill (and Duke, I believe), there aren't many places that are off campus but still within walking distance. Now, you don't have to have a car to survive at Wake. There are always friends with cars, and you can live perfectly comfortably without leaving campus, but you do start to feel a little isolated from the town itself, and it is a really nice town. But, as Willmintgonwave said, there's always enough happening on campus that you don't need to go off of it.
