TAG Program Highlights for 2009-2010
• Starting in Fall 2009, TAG will include all California community colleges.
• The program will be off ered for students transferring in Fall or Winter quarters.
• California community college students can participate in this guarantee by:
• completing the requirements, and
• submitting a UC application during the fi ling period for:
• Fall (November 1-30, 2008) or
• Winter (July 1-31, 2009)
• Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) will help you meet
general education course requirements. If you indicate IGETC and UCSD TAG on
your UCSD application, you will be guaranteed admission if you meet the TAG
requirements:
• Full completion of IGETC is required.
• UCSD must receive your IGETC certifi cation form by:
• July 15, 2009, for Fall Quarter 2009 (IGETC completed by end of Spring 2009)
• September 15, 2009, for Winter Quarter 2010 (IGETC completed by
end of Summer 2009)
• TAG does not guarantee your choice of college at UCSD. Please rank your
college choices on the UC application.</p>
<p>Who’s Eligible?
To qualify for TAG, you need to be a California community college student who:
�� has been enrolled at one or more CCCs for at least 2 regular terms
�� completed at least 30 semester (45 quarter) UC-transferable units at a CCC
�� attended a CCC as your last college before UCSD admission
�� is in good standing during your last regular term
�� will be applying for junior status (60 UC-transferable semester units or
90 UC-transferable quarter units)
• TAG is available to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, AB540 students, and
former UC students in good standing (except former UCSD students).
• TAG does not apply to students with senior class standing (90 or more
semester /135 quarter UC-transferable units) from accredited four-year
universities and community colleges combined.
• Students cannot reach senior standing with only community college units.
A maximum of UC-transferable community college units (70 semester / or 105
quarter) will be accepted toward graduation. For CCC units beyond the 70
semester units / 105 quarter units, subject credit is awarded.
• Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate units earned prior to high
school graduation do not apply to the limit of 90 semester units /135 quarter
units.
For Fall 2009 and Winter 2010 admission
Students need to earn a cumulative 3.0 minimum UC GPA and complete both UC
English courses and the UC math course by the end of Fall term 2008 and maintain a
3.00 GPA through the end of Spring 2009. For Winter 2010 admission, students need
to earn a cumulative 3.00 minimum UC GPA through the end of summer 2009 and
complete both UC English courses and the UC Math course by the end of Summer 2009.
Students must meet screening criteria for designated majors requiring lower-division
