My status has not changed and my unofficial transcript loads along with also having received a congratulations packet! so nothing exciting happening there. :/.

is anyone here planning on dorming the rest of the year?

the status page doesn’t change until after you pay your NSEOF and they’ve confirmed it. (This is of course after you get the welcome packet informing you that you’re in) Then it will say:
We received your confirmation payment. Thank you for choosing the UW Seattle!! If you have not already done so, contact the First Year Programs Office to select an advising and orientation session, which is also when you will register for classes.

so if my unofficial transcript still hasn’t loaded am i rejected?

can you send a link to the page where you pay the confirmation fee?

I’m kind of freaking out if I have gotten in or not. I did UW in the High School so my unofficial transcript is there just because of that

You have to pay via check in the mail or in person

i got my acceptance letter today! sadly, no packet yet.

but congrats to everyone else who got in! maybe i’ll be seeing u guys… :D

congrats kawaiixsarang!

I’m in! /everyone who hasn’t heard yet should look at their status:

"Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admission to the University of Washington for winter quarter 2011. A complete packet of information about admission and enrollment is mailed approximately 5 - 10 days from the date your admission status was updated in our data base. Please allow sufficient time for the mail to reach you, especially if you live out of state or out of the country. "

congrats to the new people who just got in!

In Re: florida’s post with the status message, it looks like those notified early (including myself) never got that status. We went straight from…we’re looking over your application to thanks for paying your nseof!

Still no change to the status and my unofficial transcript doesn’t upload… I’m afraid I was rejected…

MY UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT LOADED!!! Does this mean I’m in??? It says junior class standing with pre social science as a major.

Okay, more important question before I get too worked up, does UW waitlist transfers, or has anyone ever had their transcript load and then be rejected?

congrats mine still hasnt loaded…

That’s awesome! Congrats! Mine still hasn’t loaded…

I didn’t get in…

Iloveudub, are you sure? Did you get a letter?

If so, don’t give up! I applied three times and just got in. See what you need to do to make your application better and reapply. After my second rejection I met with a counselor in Mary Gates and you know what she told me? “you’ll never get in with that gpa. Have you thought about Seattle u or spu?” I said I still wanted to try for uw and she said I was wasting my time… But I just got in. I know how you feel, but if you really want to go, try again!

Yup my mom told me just now. It sucks. Better to know now I guess. I’m thinking about going to BC next quarter. It probably doesn’t help much that I was transferring from a 4 year in state (Western). I definitely will try again. Thanks! I’m really excited for you though

Definitely go to BCC, and maybe apply for summer 2011. You stand a much better chance of applying from a Washington community college than a different four year school. Another option, if you can afford it- enroll as a nonmatriculated student at UW to complete your pre-req’s for your major. Don’t give up. I didn’t think I would get in, as I had an entire year of another university with a 2.1 GPA, but I guess I did…

Which college did you go to? If you don’t mind me asking. Does it help to enroll as a nonmatriculated student and get credits that way? I’ll definitely look into that too

I went to the University of Oregon for a year and maintained that impressive GPA, and then I went to another SCCC and did just as well. I was frustrated because the thing was, I actually WAS trying, so I took some time off just to work before enrolling at BCC.

Between SCCC and BCC I was diagnosed with ADHD, so my GPA at BCC was around a 3.9, but because I had so many credits with low grades, my combined cumulative GPA was around a 2.6. I was rejected for winter 2010 and kept going to BCC two more quarters RETAKING classes I’d already took and replaced 5 D’s with A’s. But even with that, my GPA is only about 3.3-3.4.

Admissions says “preparation for intended major” is one of the most important factors they look at for transfers, but the trick is that sometimes those pre-req’s are only offered by UW.

So no, it’s not explicitly stated to enroll as a nonmatriculated student, but I just put two and two together. They’ll see what you’re doing and that you are dedicated and ready to start your UW major. The thing is, I considered doing it last year, but for my major (sociology) there is only one required class, and it was filled up even before the freshmen were able to register, so I as a nonmatriculated student definitely couldn’t get in. It’s worth looking into though. Ideally, I wanted to take 10 credits at a community college and that one class at UW in order to show I was doing everything I could with my coursework, as well as applying from a community college.
