Winter 2012 Transfer Thread

halol…congrats again, must be a great feeling.

Heyyy…So i applied on october first… and i messed up the day that it was due so i wrote my final three essays in three hours haha so the chances of getting in are VERY slim. Also my college transcript is on its way to Umich today, but i never received an email about a WA… I got the conformation email from Commonapp that i sent in a supplement to umich but no WA stuff? confuseddd…? does umich send it to you after they receive your materials??

Michigan’s confirmation e-mail is separate from the commonapp one. Michigan has to actually process your application before they give you a confirmation and allow you to create a WA account to check your app.

Ahh wünderbar! Thank you Anthony! i was gettin kind of nervous lol

I made it! I made it! I look up to the sky…

There’s definitely something not so straightforward about their rolling admissions process. But yeah, I’m siked and after reading so many blog posts about people getting in the past, feels grrreat to write it myself.

Stay Hungry. stay foolish. This was my third try…

^Same here. Way to go!! AND GO BLUE THIS WEEKEND

Can’t wait until I get to post this stuff myself. Congratulations Brigandino! Third time’s the charm huh? Hopefully it’s the same with me, it’s my third time as well.

Well, Brigandino, looks like you’ll have to change your allegiances before Saturday!

@brigandino I’m majoring in physics as well actually. How much have you looked through the physics webpage? The research some of the faculty is doing is SERIOUSLY FREAKIN’ AWESOME! Michigan’s physics is amazing, and from what I heard it’s not bad at Michigan State either. Still though, Michigan’s physics is better than almost any university in the nation, as far as public schools go, I think only Cal’s can claim to be better.

Oh, and CONGRADUMALATIONS!

@Sagara: Senk you very much! and and agreed,Michigan’s Physics friggin’ awesome, I’m actually applying to this CERN summer internship they have right now…

@Kobudnik haha, my allegiance won’t have to change as I’ve always been an in-the-closet Michigan fan. It’s gonna be a big relief to publicly express my love for nard-dog and not be judged for it…=P

@MechiganBoy Those who stay at it, will be Champions - Bo Schembechler

@AnthonyKX Good luck to you as well,my man. I’m actually also from A2, Pioneer kid.

@Brigandino, Me too! Are you class of 2010?

Just your guys opinion… Should I re-apply for next Fall right now? Or should I wait for my first semester grades (going to be 4.0)… But by that point won’t i be too late ? I feel like umich has me caught in a vicious cycle

Apply right now, just send them an e-mail asking to get your application moved for fall 2012. Then you will get deferred until your first semester grades come out.

haha Yup! but I’ll stop there for security reasons…XP

Question for all you guys who have already gotten decisions. Do any of your last names begin with T-Z? I know it’s a strange question but I checked the Michigan admissions website and found that the admissions counselor looking at your application depends on your last name. I admit I’m really anxious to get a decision and I’m really just looking at all the possible signs I can find to see when I can expect to get one. From what I can gather, it seems that people are getting decisions on Tuesdays and Fridays and I’m just hoping that I can get mine on the next possible date.

@Brigandino, I’m trying to think of who you are right now, we might have known each other.

Even though a counselor is assigned to your app by name, the website also says all apps go through at least three reviews, with the possibility of four or even going to committee.

The counselor you’re referring to is the 2nd review, but is one of many. In addition, there are five ratings which a reviewer can label your application: poor, fair, good, excellent, or outstanding. If you’re like me, you’ll want to read it 5 times yourself so here is the link:

Guess I’m just resigned to waiting some more then…No way to predict when my decision will come out now.

Anyone else get a decision yet?

We could talk some more about mine if you like… Lol

Nope, nothing here. If I hear something I’ll be sure to post it here ASAP.
