Winter 2012 Transfer Thread

@abrknight Thanks for the heads up, I think I’ll probably do that.

@yellowphenom- You can find your the actual admissions counselor on the admissions site, it’s based by last name. That’s who abrknight was referring to.

Accepted! This is my third time trying and I finally got it. I’m so happy to finally be able to write this after waiting so long!

Congrats!! I was hoping to see this from you! Great feeling isn’t it? Go Blue

Yeah, just awesome! GO BLUE!

You called? Or found out from WA?

I got an e-mail at 1250 and then I checked my WA. Good luck dude, hope you get it soon.

Congrats Anthony, I’m very excited that you got accepted man. I was crossing my fingers that you’d get in, I can just tell the enthusiasm and determination in each of your posts. Hopefully I’ll see ya there! I spoke to my admission counselor today and they haven’t started Fall '12 applicants yet… but it should be soon… I hope!

Anyways, Congrats again and Go Blue!

Thanks so much Mag. Got my fingers crossed for you as well. I think you’ll make it and hopefully the admissions office thinks that too. Best of luck to you and hopefully you’ll know soon. LETS GO BLUE!

My son is accepted. Here is his stats
HS: GPA 3.0
SAT: 1800/2400
College GPA: 3.56
Major: Math

Seeing everyone getting there admissions already is making me so nervous… (But of course congrats!) I just looked at my application and saw a horrible mistake I made with my app… I don’t think I will be getting in anymore. I am visiting this weekend as well… -sighs-

@SHSurprise- Congratulations! He must be thrilled!

@dbomb16- I completely understand how you feel right now. I felt exactly the same way until 3 yesterday. Don’t give up hope. Even if you don’t get it this time, there’s always next semester. I had to try three times before I finally got the good news. Just keep your head up and work as hard as you can and Michigan will recognize that. Good luck and Go Blue!

ACCEPTED!!

I am still in shock and can’t believe it, but got the decision!

Admitted into CoE (Mech Eng) as a transfer:

120 Credits (only half will probably transfer, but that’s okay… Michigan has been my dream school since the beginning)

3.85 Cumulative College GPA

3.93 Pre-Req GPA

3.63 HS GPA

Did not submit ACT/SAT scores (let’s just say I wasn’t very motivated in HS and did very poorly on them)

OOS student

It’s been a long, long road but I ended up exactly where I set my goals at. Good luck to all other transfers and if I can be of any assistance please ask!

Go Blue!

Congratulations Mag! I always thought you deserved it and I’m happy for you that you finally got it. We might even see each other on campus in September of next year! Go Blue, and you know it’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

Thanks anthony, I really appreciate it! I’ve enjoyed tracking people’s progress on here before and it’s always exhilarating to finally see how excited people are when they get in. It’s incredible how much can be achieved with some determination and perseverance, and I think Michigan will only amplify opportunities for us.

It would be pretty awesome to bump into one another on campus, and yes I can definitely say it feels amazing to be a Wolverine!

Congrats MAG! I’m happy for you, I could tell you really wanted it and deserved it. Best of luck fellow Wolverine!

Hi guys! obviously smiley faces are a good indication hehehehehe like I said I was visiting mich this weekend. On fri while switching planes in DC I checked my email and got my acceptance ! This weekend was unbelievable… congrats to everyone and I hopeto see u guys there! Which orientation is everyone going to?

My stats:

I originally was accepted to michigan as a freshman but ultimately chose nyu because they gave me more money. (Even though I’ve hated that school since I was in 5th grade)
SAT: 2250
HS GPA: 3.5 (stuyvesant hs)
Swim Team, dragon boating

I applied to transfer last winter but my application as mishandled by umich, they were confused with one of my transcript sadly I missed the deadline.

Junior yr! Haha
From: NYU
Major: econ, environmetal
Minor: chinese, business studies
Gpa: 3.2 (I know its ****…)
Dragon boating, various clubs, net impact, nyu crew team

Congratulations dbomb! What timing huh. Had to make the weekend amazing getting your acceptance on your way.

For everyone, I haven’t decided which orientation Ill be going to but when I do, I am going to post it here. Don’t know about you guys, but it would be cool if any of us could meet up at orientation and have a beer or something to celebrate.

Totally abrknight. For me, I think I would want to go to the December orientation except my schedule probably won’t allow for it. I mean when I have finals beginning on 12/12 so there is no way I would ever go back to Ann Arbor just to go to orientation and then have it screw up my grades. Besides, it would be really stupid to fly from Pittsburgh to Detroit for thanksgiving break then back then after 3 days fly to Ann Arbor again. I’ll probably end up with the January orientation.

Congrats to all of you accepted to the U of M!

I’m still waiting to hear… and have a few questions/concerns:

I’ve seen it mentioned on here that there are admissions advisors specific to students/applications, based on last name. I have not been able to find this online anywhere, but I’d love to have a contact - can anyone point me in the right direction on the U of M website?

Also, I noticed a few days ago (not sure if it was in this thread) someone mentioned that on the Wolverine Access link, when you click “Admission Application Status” it should somewhere say “Application complete” if you have everything in and complete. Is there any truth to this? I have 2 links: “View Application Data” and “View Credentials,” but no where do I see an “application complete” message - I’m starting to worry now. I had everything in by the deadline (on the deadline, really - long story as to why I applied to late), so I just assumed that since my Application data was online, it was complete.

Thanks in advance for any help!
