Winter 2012 Transfer Thread

@eddy4188, this link should help.

I think you have everything in. You should have two links and I don’t believe mine had an application complete message. I can’t check anymore because I already paid my enrollment so it’s from memory. If you have those two links and I think in the view credentials section you don’t have something that says transcript missing you should have everything in.

On website they only indicating that December and January orientation. Do you guys know exact dates of the orientation? Thanks.

Thank you anthony! For the life of me, I could not find those counselors anywhere on the website - the link helped!

I’ll check in with my counselor and make sure everything’s fine, but you made me feel at ease for now.

Also, does anyone know how long after being accepted (I’m hoping!) you find out how much (if any) financial aid you can expect to receive?

They’ll start asking for documentation in addition to your fafsa. For me they asked for my tax returns, and a “household info” questionnaire. Unfortunately, they didn’t ask for it all at once, instead waiting to receive the first document, then asking for the second.

I called to confirm they received everything and was told once they had all request docs, it would be 1 or 2 weeks until my aid package was available.

i think im going to try to go to the December orientation. My friends advise me to do so because the december orientation kids get first pick of classes and what not. Finals are around that time for me as well but whatever dont really care that much… Im not going to fail my classes… I sent in my fafsa and css profile while i applied. I personally handed them the random forms they asked from me while I was there along with tax returns. And I am totally down in chilling when we get there! Definitely hit me up! private message me if you want to keep in touch and ill give you my actual email address and what not haha.

I AM SO NERVOUS. I have 24 days of school left this semester and no idea where I will be attending next semester.

I was accepted to UM for Fall 2011, but did not enroll. Biggest mistake of my life. I haven’t heard back yet for next semester but, I am currently a freshmen at MSU with a Junior academic standing.

4.1 HS GPA
60 Credits after this semester
No college GPA established
yet (freshmen)
Internship experience on 5th Avenue in NYC after HS graduation
27 ACT
SO NERVOUS…
but I have gotten in before…
Application was complete 9/2 but they don’t get one of my transcripts until Oct 25. :frowning:

WISH ME LUCK!

CoreySmithNYC - it’s a lot easier to get in as a transfer if you’ve previously been accepted to the University. You’re one step ahead of a lot of people, so be happy about that! It’s not a guarantee, but it does help.

Hi Guys, I got accepted for transfer into LSA. Someone please help me cause I am a bit confused… I am a 3rd year right now going in the middle of my 3rd year and the course equivalency chart for my school does not list any of the courses I took. Who can I contact with an email?

Also, how does fafsa work?

@CollegeAC

Thanks anthony, where can I get a login id and password… I only have a umich student id for now…

iloveumich - Thank you for the optimism. It sucks extra because I had to drop all of my classes for next semester because the billing period is coming up. Let’s just hope I get re-accepted.

@CoreySmithNYC, if everything arrived on time, you would have been accepted again because you were the first time and nothing has changed since then. If you don’t the only reason will be because you were too late and they ran out of space. I think you need to make sure you back up plan is set because this is getting really late and basically by this point they’re done accepting people. After next week, you should plan on staying at your current university for sure. But still, as long as you get decent grades, you will for sure get admitted for Fall 2012. Good luck with your application for this semester.

Everything did not get there on time. They did not receive one of my transcripts until October 25. So I am hoping that I am still under consideration. One of my friends transferred from Pepperdine after one semester, and didnt get her acceptance letter until Thanksgiving. I still have hope and every student situation is different.

And the reason why they didnt process my transcript until October 25 is because the person who is supposed to do that hadnt, and I had to call several times and get them to process it so i could begin the review process.

So is there any way our admission could be revoked? …by mistake or because we submit the $200 too late?? I’m debating whether or not to pay the $200 asap but I haven’t even received the packet yet…

I believe you have until Dec. 1 to make the deposit. Since everything is done on Wolverine Access, you don’t receive much of a packet. I just got an official letter of acceptance and a folder.

If we got into LSA, is there any hope at all for getting into Ross??? I have already taken upper div business courses at my school and I am very interested in Ross…

collegeAC - I have the same problem as you. Theoretically, we can tranfer from LSA to Ross, but Ross does not recognize any courses taught in other business schools and it only allows you to graduate at least two and a half years after you get into Ross.

So at this point, are we allowed to get any gpa as long as we pass our courses? I’m about to get one B and I dono if I should work for that A anymore since gpa doesnt transfer over…

Well if you’re still interested in Ross, you better work for that A. As long as you’re not at Michigan and don’t go to an Ivy, you’ve going to need a really strong GPA to get into Ross even as a sophomore applicant. Ross for sure will be able to see your GPA from the school you’re transferring from. I always had Ross in mind when I made my decision to go for Michigan once again. I knew that I would have to stay an extra year in school but since I’m paying IS tuition, this could allow for me to potentially get two degrees, Ross has a much stronger recruitment program than LSA, getting the degrees I actually want and future potential earnings basically outweighed the extra year in school. I never took any business courses at my school because I knew they wouldn’t transfer. Actually, pretty much all my courses were just making sure I had the prereqs for the possible business schools I was interested in.
