Winter 2013 Transfer Thread

No, I am in a liberal arts college in the U.S.

@Matisyahu Winter 2013

@dec453 have you written all your essays and stuff?

Everything has been completed, and both my application and supplement have been submitted via the Common App

@dec453 I think you have a very good chance man. I think the average GPA for transfer acceptances was around 3.6.

I don’t know GPA 3.54, Credits 63, four recommendations, Club Vice president, honor student of Violin and Vocal, Fluent Japanese, some job positions on campus would be good for U-M winter…

Everything that I sent in has officially been received by the University! When did people start finding out last year? I’m so anxious :X

I dont know if LAC GPA 3.54, Top 18%, Club Vice President, four recommendation letters, nice job positions in College, Fluent Japanese, Human Rights Initiative Volunteer, manager of club Facebook would work for me to U-M

@cato - Last year, people found out the second week of October.

@albo23 You should probably get your decision on October 1st if you’re lucky.

Ugh I just hate thinking about decisions. The wait is excruciating, I’ve got deferred and rejected as a freshmen applicant. Then rejected as a transfer applicant, and now I’m waiting again for the fourth time.

Dude I’m fairy positive you will be accepted.

me too. Albo will get in. im waiting for the day when albo posts his acceptance. seriously ur sincerity is a big deal dude!

@albo23: This is the third time I apply for school completely by DIY. Could I know why are you so “loyal” applying to U-M particularly?

Well I live in the State of Michigan, I have many friends at the university, I don’t like my current university despite my full-ride scholarship, and since I am an in-stater, I’ll pay about $13,000 per year after financial aid.

I’m very positive that you could get in!

hey albo23, how diverse is U-M? Is there a lot of people from different racial backgrounds?

I was admitted UNC-Chapel Hill last semester actually, but I did not go since I only hope to transfer to LAC, but then this time I would apply to U-Mich and see. I found U-M’s undergraduate size is much better than UNC’s according to USNEWS?

UofM is pretty diverse, that is one goal that it strives for. I believe over 15% of the student base is international and I think one of the freshmen essays is about diversity.

Is it possible to know “Why I was rejected?” if I mailed them because of rejection?
