@Dreamingowl Yeah I got accepted to UNC also last semester, but I decided not to go. I’m wondering how would it be for transfer students to transition into U-M academically. You guys think our GPA will take a huge hit?

@Matisyahu: Haha, you were also accepted ? Actually I predict my GPA to U-M might be higher than my current 3.54 actually, or at least the same. Since my college’s academic sometimes is so rigorous that I even crossed my bottom line–twice. If I didn’t taken those two courses, I should be at least 3.7+. Besides, if we transfered to U-M, our GPA would count completely new right?

@Dreamingowl yeah I made a myunc Id and everything. Our GPA resets but if you want to go to grad school like me, they will count the whole GPA. I have a 4.0 right now with 60+ credits at the end of this semesters, and I just want to make sure the new school doesn’t catch me off guard.

@Matisyahu: I faced some tragedy which made my GPA very embarrassing. My school’s 3.3 equal to many school’s 3.8-3.9. This is why I felt extremly worry about whether I could get in to U-M or not, compered to you guys’.

And I did make comments that my college’s rigor is among Top5, but I am not sure how U-M will look at it.

@Dreamingowl I’m not sure really but I’m sure they will take into consideration that you went to a rigorous LAC.

@Matisyahu: Thank you. As I finished everything last week, I realized that actually Waiting is much more excruciating than Application.

is there any housing link that we can click to check if we are accepted or not? I think i have seen it in some threads. Forgot if its UM or some other schools…

@d4wnzz: I called U-M and they said we will be notified through email later

I think he means that to see if we were accepted even before we officially are. I know Cornell does it for housing too.

Then I don’t know. U-M is rowing system. Is it true that some students received results during mid-Oct even though they just submitted at the end of Sept ?

The only thing I heard of happening is getting an email of your transfer credit evaluation (evaluates what classes transfer and what doesnt, etc) before you actually get your acceptance email.

@Dreamingowl - They say its rolling, but it doesn’t seem so. It is true that some people who submitted their application late September received their decision in early October.

If accepted, what dorms are you guys going to live in? Is there some special village for transfers only or specifically for transfers?

I received credit transfer too last semester when I was admitted to UNC-Chapel Hill.

@albo23: could I know what do you mean by “doesn’t seems so”? Well I guess I have to wait at least one month in order to get any email from them again. But I guess winter semester transfer pool might be smaller than fall applicants?

It doesn’t seem like it’s rolling because students in the past had submitted late but got an early decision.

which means the process seem to be a “mess”… I don’t know if my Sep.22nd was late.

Hey Guys I have a question, what if I was deffered or waiting list? How long I have to wait for a later possible admission ?

@Owl im pretty sure at least late nov to dec. BTW why did u turn down UNC? lol… oh and did u apply elsewhere? I applied to UoR as well. @Everyone! What other schools did everyone apply to???

@d4wnzz: UoR-University of Richmond? Well before I kind of prefer liberal arts college,so last semester I only said to myself that I would transfer only if it is my top choice women colleges, or I will not change. And finally only UNC-Chapel Hill admitted me but at that time all of my head was about LAC, so I decline it. But after a whole summer, I kind of feel it’s would be also great to transfer to a big univ. So this time I aim at U-M.
