Winter 2013 Transfer Thread

That’s really fast enough for receiving result from U-M ! Do admissions have any time viewing students’ gossip on CC? I really wish all of us could have a positive news in coming two weeks!

Besides, do admissions work till 8:00p.m? Which means we might receive result from U-M during an evening?

@Dreamingowl - I think my last post was misleading. I have not received a decision from U of M yet. I should be in the next week or so if they really do release decisions in 6-8 weeks. Next Tuesday marks week 8 of processing. I was just saying to Matisyahu that I am excited to be in their program. If I don’t get in next semester, I will apply again for Fall semester and get in then. Either way, I’m planning on being there. lol

I hope we could be there directly next semester so that we have more room and time to explore more things. Anyway I don’t know whether I would be lucky enough to receive the result next week direclty. Hope U-M could view applicants not only fast but also effecient and responsible.

@megagamerexe Yeah I understand what you mean. How many Political Science courses have you taken?

Zero. :stuck_out_tongue: I love politics (one might even call me a news junkie), and I’ve wanted to go to law school for awhile now. I just thought being an EnglIsh major would be more helpful. I’ve taken a lot of Pre-reqs though. All of my science credit will complete after this semester.

Where do you find the list of required courses for each major?

Hey could I know does U-M also put an emphasize on transfer students’ extra-curriculum right?

Matisyahu, depending on your concentration, you can find their department website on the LSA website.

Dreamingowl, UofM does not place a big emphasis on extracurricular activities. They place a lot of importance on GPA and then total credits right underneath that.

@albo23: Thanks. Could I know how did you know that? Well I provided an additional attachment email to U-M explaining one of my Chemistry Seminar which damaged my GPA to 3.5+. I just discussed that with the coming freshman of my college and all of them said why I was involved into a “hell”.

@albo23 Okay thanks. Have you completed your foreign language requirement? We probably have to do Race and Ethnicity at U-M.

Besides, is it possible that if we were accepted to U-M, could we change our major later we were in? For example if I applied Political Science but later hope to do Environmental Engineering?

@Dreamingowl Yeah you don’t officially declare your major until you get there. Although I think Environmental Engineering is a different school, not LSA, so I’m not sure about that.

holy ****, im already thinking the possibility that if i get rejected. Argh :(

@d4wnzz - Don’t think that way dude. You never know what’s going to happen. This is a lesson that I have to learn too unfortunately. :stuck_out_tongue: We just have to wait a little longer to receive our decisions. You have a really great chance too, so don’t sell yourself short.

Is it hard to transfer into the Nursing program?

@courts What school in U-M is that?
@d4wnzz Wow, why does it feel like I haven’t seen you in a while? Also, dude you’ll be fine man. Don’t think like that.

Would U-M begin to release result next week?

yes, starting from next week. Thanks guys. Anyways Mega i like how u said. Dont sell urself short lol… i really hope everyone here gets in! then we can have a party in mich lol.

anyone applying to the college of engineering? I submitted everything on aug 22nd but i still haven’t got any emails from them saying they are processing or even received. Called a few times and they just ask me to wait. Anyone here have a problem like this?
