Winter 2013 Transfer Thread

I will have 50 by the time I step onto U-M. I have 38 right now.

I think you will be fine.
55 is junior status at LSA.

I submitted my application and michigan downloaded it on 8/22 but until now I haven’t heard anything from them, is this normal or should I call and ask?

You should have got a email. Call if you didn’t.

I never received an email last year but I still received my decision.

Hey I think my extracurricular activity was cut off by 3 letters. What should I do? Should I call the school?

If it is not absolutely vital, no. From what I have gathered they just try to decipher what it should be as it happens very often on the Common App.

Anyone sent recs???

I sent one from a professor last year, still got rejected.

Albo, did you reactivate your application? Or did you write new essays and send in a whole new one?

@d4wnzz I sent one.

Matisyahu, I just reactivated it. No essays were rewritten.

Oh okay.
So you think the difference between you getting rejected and accepted last time was the number of credits?

Probably. I’m not sure what else it could have been.

Well since you’ll have over 60 credits, I think you will be fine.

Okay, I called and they said I could email them an essay that is not cut off.
Did you guys confirm that your application is complete?

yup i called and check. They said decisions will be out by late october.hate the wait :(

Any of u guys applying to other schools for this spring???

Late October? I thought decisions start from October 1st.

Decisions start 4-6 weeks after your application is marked as completed; I have contacted them many times on the phone and live chat and I always ask them this question. They have told me transfer applications are done in a rolling basis, not as batches like the freshmen admissions.

Where do you do the live chats with them? I’d find that much easier than to speak with them on the phone and constantly be put on hold.
