i called my transfer counsellor and she told me that all the admissions officers are out recruiting right now so it will be 4-6 weeks before people start getting decisions. i thought that the transfer counsellors only deal with transfer applicants but i guess they deal with freshmen recruiting as well

Ouch. Long wait.

Hey e130, you should really stop judging everyone and worry only about yourself right now. I sent in 3 letters of recommendation, and they obviously helped. Though they may not be required, those who went out of their way to get some aren’t obsessive, rather dedicated, hardworking, and motivated. And admissions can see that. I also wrote two additional essays. Not required, again, but it shows that i really want to be a wolverine. Hard work goes a long way, and extra work can never hurt.

Good luck to all who are still waiting a response! :)

And CTransfer, it sounds like you are very successful and I think you have a petty good chance. We have similar stats and I have been admitted! Best of luck :)

CTransfer32, i am applying as an transfer to the CoE too. I would like to ask how’s your wolverine access status now? For me, it’s written application not complete and when i clicked into the credentials, it says my college transcript is not received. But when i called the person in charge of it, she told me that they have received my college transcript but not my high school transcript. I would like to know how about yours. and who should i contact to ask about my application status because i was told that the admission to CoE is different from others, they have a different contact number.

Hey guys, where do u see the application written “complete” or not? I can’t find it in the self-service nor the credentials… so confused

MaggieV, it should be right above the link for credentials and data on the Application Status page (which you access on wolverine access from the New and Prospective Student Business page). Hope that helps!

in the “other required application material” section of the WA, does any of yours say Transcript - Official Final Not Received?? i was told that this has something to do with the current courses that you are enrolled in?

Goblueforever thx! But they said I need to wait a few days for this to be updated even though my application IS complete…

Gohwaikien, my wolverine access is complete now. It was initially “Application is incomplete” when I first got my ID. I sent my high school transcript to them on the 15th and they downloaded it on the 16th, it still said “Application is incomplete”. I emailed enginrta@umich.edu/email the 16th, and they replied within an hour saying that I didn’t need to send additional information and to wait 3-5 days for the data to be entered/updated. 3 days later it changed to “Application is complete”

Also if you want to call them, the phone number is: (734) 647-7103 (listed on the transfer page on the website) or 734-647-7101 (listed on the bottom of the UMID email).

The real question here, I think everyone wants to know, is there anyone that has received any response from Michigan yet regarding your application for admission for any semester in 2014. If you were accepted please let us know your Stats, this would help people know what they are up against in regards to the admissions board. In other words, what the heck are they thinking currently. Does anyone have any idea??? How is the admission process looking so far this year??? Transfer and freshman

@Lulu32, I’m in the same boat as you as I applied last semester for fall transfer and was rejected. I updated my application and everything, it was completed early September…forget the date. Congrats though on getting accepted!!!

Anyway, I haven’t heard anything from them yet, which is worrying me since you got accepted already. I would think I would have heard by now since I applied over a month ago. Do you guys think that means I am going to be rejected?

Stats:
HS gpa - 3.5 honors, ap, ib classes
ACT - 28
College gpa- 3.7 (41 credits, 15 pending) also honors student and on dean’s list.
Have some EC’s too.

Hello have you guys received an email which confirms your application is complete? They said I should get it within a week…

i have not, i checked my WA though and noticed that there was nothing missing. i feel like they are very behind and its going to be a while b4 ppl start hearing back and thats weird bcuz its almost been 4 weeks since the deadline.

Ecar52, I was admitted already for Winter and I received my admissions letter on October 8th I believe. I submitted all of my application materials by the end of August and everything was downloaded by UM by Sep. 4th. The reason I heard back quicker than most is possibly because I filled out the common application last year and only needed to update my application via email for this term. I do know they have been having trouble with this years common application, so I would think that could be part of why many of you have not heard back yet.

My stats really were not great in high school.
HS GPA- 3.1 UW/ 3.29 W
ECs- choir for 4 years, and that’s really it
ACT: 23

I currently am a first semester sophomore at WMU.
GPA: 3.875
ECs: Volunteer at Borgess hospital, member of LHC honors college, dean’s list all semesters, invited to ALD honors society, sales associate at Old Navy
CREDITS: 36 completed (54 pending)

I also did not take any easy “A” courses. I am a biomedical sciences major, as well as a major in Spanish culture and language. I think it probably looked very good that I had 3 college semesters of Spanish courses, as well as biology, calculus, psychology, chemistry, etc…

If you have ~45 credits pending, above a 3.5 GPA, good ECs, and rigorous college courses, you should be in a good range for being admitted.

Best of luck to all of you! And I hope to see you in the Winter :)

Got my acceptance email today!!! I think people will start hearing soon :)

Congrats naddabay!! That’s awesome! When did you submit your application?

congrats naddabay! I am just wondering what were your stats? Are instate or out of state? i think you heard back because you were a previous applicant like LULU.

When I attended the transfer open house, I was told by an admissions board member that a high GPA, near-junior standing, and some acceptable essays will get you in. She waved off my question about extracurriculars and stated they aren’t really a factor outside of high school. Additionally, high school performance isn’t much regarded either, by that point.
