Winter 2014 Transfer

@jvnkie you totally scared me with your comment because they are taking forever with mine…

I hope we all do get in. Just gotta stay positive!

any update ?? :)

They finally processed my transcripts a few hours ago  My application now says complete. I’m just wondering if we’re actually going to register AT orientation… I’ve been trying to just guess the classes I might take winter quarter using the degree course guide for my major. I can’t not use rate my professor lol it’s a must.

yes Ambyyyyy, I mentioned in the orientation thread that you do, in fact, get to register for classes there.

Ooh… I must have been hoping for a different answer :)

also, k o o f e r s is far superior to ratemyprofessors.

Hey guys… I was admitted last friday (finally!). I paid my EDC and orientation fees, and even bought my parking pass for winter!!, right away. The only orientation day available was december 6th. But I have a friend attending orientation this friday and on her bronco direct student center under open enrollment dates it shows that she can also register this friday, but mine does not show any registration date! I sure dont want to wait another 5 weeks and register at my orientation cus im sure there will be nothing left. and apparently my major (communications) is now impacted for fall 2014. Does anyone else have an assigned reg. date? also does anyone else have orientation on the 6th of december?!

your registration date is going to be your orientation date. This is mainly because you’re going to have a hold on your account until you complete your orientation.

I was admitted  paid enrollment fee, paid AND attended orientation, registered for classes and got my ID card. All was good… until I woke up this morning :frowning: all classes dropped from, and admission rescinded. They didn’t tell me the reason. But, I believe the reason may be that I am still enrolled in the math class needed. ← I did send the transcript showing I was enrolled to be completed in November. I had 70+ semester units on my transfer credit report. So units are not a problem. I emailed admission, they told me to call an admissions counselor tomorrow. Do you think I will be able to overturn this scenario? Everything is technically done except this math which I take the final this weekend. What do you guys think. I do have contingency plans as many mistakes have made me wise.

Contingency plan(s)

 • Continue community college and take classes to complete courses that complete my degree at CPP. (Finance major btw). I then apply for fall again.

Last resort

 • Utah Valley University: open enrollment everyone is accepted. I already paid for admissions and simply just need to register for classes. I can start right away in January as a Finance major there. Downside ($14k for the first year)

I have 0 debt btw and have outstanding athletic ability. Been recruited by 6 D1 schools full ride scholarship but did not go because they were impacted and pretty much told me I cannot major in Finance, Accounting, Econ, or Business. Which makes school worthless for me. I was going to walk on the CPP track team and earn a scholarship for my senior year which makes CPP a good school. Cheap, close to home, and allows me to major in Finance.

I’m just rambling now. Back on topic. Do you think I could overturn my situation? I really don’t want to have to resort to my contingency plans as I already boasted around the house about being admitted as a finance major. xD you don’t know the pain I have went though for the past 3 years. I should be graduating this year, but had MANY setbacks such as this one. I just turned 21 btw.

GPA 2.92 ← I was lazy (sports are tiring)
Major: Finance

do any of those apply to you?

A: (currently enrolled in college algebra to be completed this week) I also have AS Degree Business Admin.

A: Did not complete by end of summer technically. (school summer semester started in July. “Out of state university BTW” to be completed in November.

hmmm dont know what to tell you then.

Bad day for me :frowning: lol

I’d be crushed right now if I wasn’t strong minded :frowning: When life brings you down always say this quote.

" The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!"

I will succeed no matter how many setbacks I get  It’s only a matter of time. You cannot succeed unless you have failed.

Well all the classes I can take for my major are officially full and my orientation date is still a month away… This is crazy…

I just noticed that I dont have a program adviser assigned on my bronco direct. Is that normal? or did I miss something?

@nox165: yes, that is perfectly normal

@kels3y they told you to register early. xD should have registered for the Nov 1st date like me. The whole school registered on the 7th xD But, you will be able to take some general eds and other classes anyway. You should have classes to take. Just look at the sheet they give you during the advising session. Unless you completed a AA-T and have no GE’s left. Then you’re just screwed xD

@blackbandit I DID try to register on November 1st. I’m not allowed to register until orientation. I even contacted the orientation desk and they told me the same thing. I’m all done with my general eds so the classes I need are slim picking.

@kelsey: you may be done with all your lower division GEs but you still have to do THREE upper division GEs as well.
