Winter 2015 Transfer

@ciamariee11‌ I don’t think it really matters. I guess electronic is a bit more trustworthy.

As estimated, received email from Cal Poly today 9/15/2014.
" Your admissions application for Winter Quarter 2015 has been reviewed, and the following official documents and/or information are required to enable us to determine your admission eligibility:

College Transcript

Santa Ana Col

Due 2014-09-30 "

I will post the complete estimated timeline in a later post.

My son just got an email from CPP stating: Your admissions application has been reviewed and the following official documents are required: college transcripts due 9/30/2014. Hoping that this email is good news. Hospitality major transferring from SDSU.

That’s awesome guys! Yes, definitely great news! I think it’s like saying your admitted provisionally without actually saying it.

Btw everyone, got no email, have nothing in my to-do’s, however when I checked bronco direct the section for application status, it has a list under application relieved of all the transcripts that are required  gotta dig sometimes because emails may be behind what bronco direct is saying… Others never get emails.

Just got my email at 8:53pm…

Hi @Reneeday. I was checking my email and CPP Bronco Direct all day while I was at work, but the notification came somewhat late at 5:35 pm PST. I hope that you got yours by now. If not, make sure to check your junk email or trash, and definitely check your CPP Bronco Direct. Btw, the notification today is for the 1st initial request for Official Transcripts with a due date of 9/30/2014. Today is Monday 9/15/2014 (actually this will post 9/16 since it’s 3:31 am), so just a little over 2 weeks, technically 11 business days. I plan on getting this task done tomorrow (later today), so if I get my official transcripts sent Tuesday 9/16. From what I’ve read, it should take about a week for CPP to receive (and process …?) it, so it should get to CPP by next Friday 9/26 (at the latest …?). Speaking of timelines …

Hope that helps.

Orientation (Registration) Fee is actually $81

Hi @kencalpoly84 thanks for all that info! I got the email on 9/15 and requested transcripts that night and the 11 business day makes me a bit nervous. I’ll be checking daily to see if they have received them. So it looks like making the ECD payment comes before knowing if were officially admitted.

Hi @Reneeday. I hope it helps at least one person. I hate worrying about dates/deadlines.

Here are the details for my Official Transcript order through SAC (Credentials Solutions):
Date/Time: Ordered on 09/16/2014 at 05:31 PM (CDT/CST)
Current Status: Completed - 09/17/2014
The transcript order was successfully completed by the school.

They provided a FEDEX tracking number (I paid online for the Express option about $26), so I will post once I confirm that Cal Poly received it. Looks like I have about 8 business days.

I agree with you. I don’t like that students are not given that much time to get this done.
And I think you’re right. Looks like once CPP receives/processes the initial official transcripts, then the Application Status changes to “Prov Admit”, and then at that point, the link is available to pay the ECD with a deadline due date of about 10/10.

just an fyi, transcripts are usually available to order through your community college’s portal and can be sent electronically. this is usually completed in about a day, although it can take longer for CPP to acknowledge they received them (which is the case with any method of sending transcripts).

you should also note that just because they are asking for transcripts does NOT guarantee admittance.

I would have preferred to send them electronically myself, however it only works if cal poly accepts electronic pdf of the transcript. I sent from five different community colleges and not one said I could send it pdf, so I believe that means cal poly doesn’t allow that option otherwise it would have shown it as an option? I wish cal states would be mandated on their timelines. I’m stuck paying double transcript fees and most likely double ECD fee because I won’t know about cal poly for another few weeks, where’s cal state la is due sooner than that. Just another way for them to get your money…

I was able to send mine electronically through my school. Wondering if I should order another set and mail it to be safe =P

That’s so weird @ciamariee11‌ because if ordered electronically before to send to another school but the option wasn’t available to me. I paid the rush on every one too, I wonder why that is.

@Hbkelly I just called admissions to check. Before he answered if they accept them electronically he asked what school they were coming from. So I’m guessing they will only accept them from certain schools. That may be why the option didn’t show up for you.

Oh okay I was thinking I would be ticked if I was able to somehow lol. Thanks @ciamariee11‌

I got the transcript notice on Bronco too. I actually sent my transcripts on Sept. 2; I called Admissions & Outreach and they said I have to resend them again. However, they said it was ok to drop by and hand deliver an official, sealed transcript to them. But it has my address on the envelope, so we’ll see what happens.

I’m dropping my transcripts by tomorrow morning, since I’m next door at Mt. Sac. If there are any problems, I’ll reorder another sent same day tomorrow and spend the extra fee for rush delivery…

So I’m curious, what is the benefit of asking for transcripts prior to offering provisional admittance if they only offer admission to non impacted majors based on GPA anyways. For example, cal state la offered provisional admittance than asked for transcripts and then I will be cleared for full admittance. So, will cal poly offer provisional admittance once they get the transcripts, but then won’t actually be verifying the transcripts until afterwards, but not before you are required to pay the ECD?

My To-Do list items for College Transcripts have changed to ‘Initiated’. I sent them via Fed Ex on Tuesday and was told they’d get there the next day. (I live in Irvine, 45 minutes away). So I guess that’s to notify me they have them! Has anyone’s status changed from Initiated to anything else yet?

When am I going to know I’m actually accepted or not is what is driving me crazy!

@dezryth‌ It still says initiated for me too. Its been like that for the past few days for me though. Getting annoying.
