Winter 2017 Transfer Thread

Just checked my transcript and was accepted to UW for winter quarter!!!

I just checked mine as well, my transcript loaded! I didn’t get into my intended major, which was psychology but I got into the school! I haven’t got my official acceptance, but the transcript loading is surely a good sign correct?

Here is a rough stats of my transcript

College level G.P.A.: 3.05
In state transfer: Shoreline CC
Over 90 credits.
Great personal Statement.

As you can see I barely had a 3.0 and I still got in, There is so many people out here that has better stats than me, I believe in you!!!

Dang it, got rejected on my app. My background essay wasn’t good enough - didn’t polish it enough I guess :expressionless:

Congratulations to all those who did get in, y’all deserve it <:-P !!!

Y’all it’s really 1:50 in the morning right now and i have an exam tomorrow but for some reason I decided to check the UW confirmation hong to see if it changed even though I was CERTAIN I was rejected… guess who’s in

@Lazybutrying May I ask what your stats were?

@prayersforUW

Applied as Freshman
3.28 weighted GPA
I took Running Start at Seattle Central College for my senior year, and earned a 3.58 GPA with 45 credits for that year.
1340/1600 SAT.
160+ volunteer hours, mostly overseas.
Short overseas internship.
In-state.

Still a little disappointed in my results, but my backup offered me a great scholarship.

@abgestumpft Congrats bro!

@Lazybutrying I’m sorry, keep your head up, you’re only a freshman you got plenty of time to apply again. You have better stats than me, you’ll get in if you try again after more credits. I honestly I have to say my personal statement is what got me in. I had a 3.05 gpa that is nothing impressive. It’s all about the personal statement

@Lazybutrying Do you think I’ll get in? im not applying as a transfer but just regular from high school. I’m a senior.

Applied as Freshman
3.56 unweighted
3.6 weighted,
no ap classes only 3 honors classes
1080 SAT
21 ACT
bunch of EC’s
amazing essays

@Lazybutrying more information about my stats are on my threads please look at them.

@prayersforUW

I know someone who managed to get in with a 3.6 GPA, so you do have strength in that regard. Your SAT scores may hurt your chances, but as many have mentioned, their essays were the deciding factor.

Honestly, if you’ve already completed everything and submitted your application, try to forget everything. It’s the Christmas season - there’s plenty more to enjoy than anxiously waiting like I did.

All in all, I’d say you have a decent chance, just pray. Hope you get in, man :slight_smile:

Holy crap omg…so I just realized that I changed one of my fall quarter classes this year at my CC, and I forgot to notify UW of the change. It wasn’t a class related to my major…It was a math class, but I already met the prerequisite math credits without it. So…should I panic or do you think I’m okay? I’m definitely gonna call admission tomorrow to let them know. I don’t want them to think that I was trying to sneak it past them. Ugh now I have to wait until morning. Do you think they’ll take away my acceptance?
:frowning:

I GOT IN!!!

Stats? @UWhopeful199

@prayersforUW 3.31 GPA, upward trend, phi theta kappa, applied with 51 credits, very strong personal statement, not all pre-reqs done.
