Winter 2017 Transfer Thread

Does anyone know when the unofficial transcripts could load? I’ve been checking everyday this past week.

I think last year and the year before, applicants heard back only beginning November, so we still have about 2.5 weeks left

@uwtransferguy2017 oh I hope I get in. It would be great news to hear on my birthday since it is in November. Lol

Some people also received rejection letters around this time. Hopefully it doesn’t include us!!

And from what I’ve seen, the unofficial transcript truck started working tomorrow for some people!!! Ahh, the nerves are killing me. Good luck to you all, I wish the best to you guys.

I’m super nervous because I’m applying before I received my AA so it is even more competitive. I have 60 credits with a 3.83 gpa. [-O<

ok I promised myself I wouldn’t log into CC until November so I don’t think about decision too much but I really want to fill you guys in. I’ll introduce myself first.
Hi guys,
I am an in-state community college student. My GPA is 3.46 and I will have my AA by the end of this quarter. My essay is really strong too. The only problem is I don’t have all of my pre-req’s in. I talked about it in my essay and everything but it scaring me because I know pre-req’s are very important. So, I am not applying to my major I just applied to UW. But yeah that’s all about myself. Here’s the juicy part:
I got an email from UW Admissions on Friday because they had a question about my application. ( I have 90 credits but I didn’t mention I will get my AA) so they asked me all about it and asked me what classes I’m taking this quarter. So they definitely looked at my application and I have been so scared ever since. I can’t think about anything else.
Anyways, nice to meet you all. Good luck everyone.

@UWwinter2017

Welcome! I promised myself the same thing lol but I check the forum everyday! This is both great news and bad news lol

I’m so nervous now its starting to feel real…

@bornahusky thank you! I don’t think we will be hearing back anything until November because they are still looking at applications and making decisions. I’m so nervous

@UWwinter2017 in last years winter transfer thread people heard back really really late but in the previous years they heard back around November 5th - 20th…hopefully we don’t have to wait as long as last years applicants!! :open_mouth:

@bornahusky November 5th??? That’s my freaking birthday I would really hate to read the rejection letter on a day that’s supposed to be happy :((

@bornahusky @UWwinter2017 I think you guys will get in because you both already have your AA degrees. I currently don’t because I’m applying early so my chances are harder. I was told by admissions if I am in good academic standing I should apply early. I am in good academic standing I just don’t have the AA yet. I also applied for the fall quarter but I applied too early because I thought they would count my winter and spring 2016 credits but they only counted what I had from fall 2015 back to spring 2015 when I started at my CC. When I got the rejection letter I talked with one of the admissions officers and they told me it is because I had 25 college credits at the time when you need at least 40 to apply early to transfer. This was in July and I told them that I have 55 credits officially since I finished spring quarter in June and they told me to reapply for the winter and I should be fine. They even told me that I didn’t need to change my personal statement. So maybe that’s a good thing? I have a 3.83 at the time of applying for winter 2017 and I have Phi Theta Kappa member on my official transcript.

I’m sorry for the long story I’m just super nervous since my chances are even lower because I don’t have my AA yet.

@Aharris1105 I am in the same boat as you, applying without my AA but I wouldn’t be too nervous. From past threads and numerous people that I’ve spoken too, if you have good grades (which you do) and write a good personal statement, then your chances are good. I’ve spoken to people with 3.4’s and below who have all gotten in without first earning an AA, so I hope that gives you a little hope. It gives me a little hope, at least.

I’m praying for all of us to get that magic letter. UW would be a dream come true for me.

Hey guys, thought I might as well join since November is coming soon. In state 3.4 gpa I had several majors so it’s not really accurate, upward trend , strong essay , have AA degree

Is anyone else general admission? Do they hear back before or after major people? I’m so scared because of the pre-reqs. I don’t think anyone else is in the same boat as me.

@UWwinter2017 as long as you have most of your pre reqs done, and the classes you take coincide with the major you’re interested in, you should have fine chances. I too applied for general admission.

I also applied for general admissions, because the pre reqs for the major I am interested in (Law, Societies, and Justice), are only offered at UW. It seems like a lot of people on this thread didn’t apply directly into their majors.

General admission? Do you mean like you didn’t do the transfer application?

No, as in we didn’t apply directly to a major program.

Ohh okay i didn’t apply to a major as well but I think it should be fine
