So I am trying to transfer after 1 year at a JC and it looks like I am going to be able to do it. I applied to the UCs already and have done everything correct. However, in order to meet the 60 unit requirement, I have to take 2 online classes over winter break. But the school that I applied to, to do winter classes, have all their classes already full. I need the 2 classes to the units, and I don't know what I should do.

1) somehow get the classes (maybe at a different school?)
2) take more units next semester
3) wait another year

1)I am currently enrolled in Santa Monica College for the winter semester, does anyone know any other school that I can still get two UC transferable courses that are 3 units each?

2)I guess I can take more units, I am already taking 18, that wouldn’t be ideal, but I could do it.

3)I am not waiting another year for 6 units… -.-

Overload the spring courses? Highly not recommended.

All the classes should be full by now :/, you can try to petition.

foothill ftw, they have a lot of open slots for winter quarter

Try ELAC .

pcc+elac = full.

I’m at Foothill. I can advise you some UC transferrable EASY classes. Since Foothill is on the quarter system you will have two chances to apply. Winter quarter applying is open now for classes, SPring quarter is gonna start spring break.

MUS 8 is the easiest class. It’s a point accumulation type class where you reach a certain # pts to get the grade. You need 2000 points to get an A and there are like 4000 points possible. you may not even have to do the final xD Another class that I thought as really easy was VART 2B. In that one you just watch movies and write reviews, and watch some more videos that the teacher requires you to watch. The reviews you need to write are honestly very lenient. you can summarize and analyze without going to indepth into the movie or material you may read in the book so i got away without reading the book at all (but i took VART 1 before that’s why.) I think VART 2B is point accumulating system too, so you can possibly finish the course in 8 weeks out of the 12 weeks of the quarter. same with MUS 8. Hope this helps.

I finish Music 8 in three weeks =)

Are those online classes? Or do you have to go to the campus? I am kinda restricted by location and I can only take online courses…

Why don’t you take 2 accelerated online classes in the Spring? One that starts at weeks 1-8, another from 4-16, or something like that. That’s what I’m doing.

@Ravous they’re both EXTREMELY EASY online classes that won’t take you the entire 12 weeks if you do all the work early. MUS 8 and VART 2B. Anything in VART 2 will prly be easy.

Btw Ravous, I was talking about accelerated courses at SMC. Spring classes are not all full yet!

I am really starting to wonder about the so-called rigor of the UC system if they will grant credit for courses like these.

i say wonder about the CCC system for giving us easy classes like that. I’ll only judge the UC once i go there.

its a general ed class any way. Its for general knowledge. No point in busting your ass to study for something that is not part of your major.

I took biological anthropology for my bio course. Easy A online. I just read the chapter the day of the quiz and write simple 200 word essays out of the chapter. Took it at moorpark college online.

Well I actually go to SBCC and I really wanted to get the classes done during winter break. I don’t know what to do which is why I asked, thank you all for your help. I dunno how Spring would work out for me. I am already taking 18 units, and to take another 6 might be pushing it…

I feel you. I didn’t realize that my AP Physics wont transfer from high school for engineering and have to take it again. I’m taking 19.5 credits this spring and I am not going to be leaving the library except for food and to go to class lol.
