When do we get it? UCI fees are due December 15. Rent for VDC/VDCN people is due December 1st but I can't pay it off then and am waiting for my Winter disbursement.

Do you think we'll get it before December 15? I hope so because after the 15th VDC/VDCN charges a $50 late fee if rent isn't in by the 15th :[

I think it’s like fall quarter, you don’t get it until around the time quarter actually begins… I just checked my disbursement / disclosure statement, winter isn’t until 01/03/2011.
However, I believe you can ask VDC/Norte to defer rent and they won’t charge extra (a friend of mine did this). I don’t know how often you can do this, if even more than once, but you must remember that the next time you pay rent it’ll be two months worth. Also, I would talk to them now to see if it’s still possible & so that all the paperwork is done so you don’t end up getting a late fee anyways.
However, next quarter try to budget your financial aid to include all months rent.

The aid for classes has already been disbursed (at least for me) and paid the tuition and fees. If you’re talking about the aid that’s leftover after paying fees, I looked it up and the money transfer is supposed to take place on Jan. 3. It may take a week to clear though, as it did this quarter.

Goddammit thanks for not showing up soon enough. If I don’t pay VDC rent next week I’ll get evicted. How do I reason with these thieving bastards that my aid doesn’t show up til Jan 3? If they had the slightest understanding of economics they’d know they’ll profit more if they wait rather than cutting themselves from any more future payments from me. It’s not like anyone else is going to take up the lease anyway.

If there’s anything I hate more than dealing with rent, it’s UCI’s financial disbursement dates. Always too little too late.

^ living in vdc, do you guys pay rent through the zotaccount site? just wondering, because i live in campus village, and even though housing payment was due on december 15, my aid always ends up taking care of the rent.

no its considered private property and you pay either in person or through their website. rent’s due at the 1st of every month… im still having the money situation though
