winter in Berkeley...

oh wait, tallkell is coming from socal...you'll probably find it to be very cold and since youre not used to it, i guess you'll need to be a little more prepared..

but anyone coming from somewhere that snows, will find berkeley's winters to be nice and warm

CalX...I live in Denver normally. so yeah skiiing is big there

phroz3n, i'm from connecticut.

how far is Tahoe from Berkeley?

(i know i could just mapquest it..but i rather learn from my CC peeps =))

NA, cool.

10char

tallkell, my guess is it's a 3-4 hour car ride away.

can anyone confirm that? ...since i've never actually made the drive from berkeley. heh.

Yes, about 3 1/2 hours.

3 hours to Squaw, a little longer to Heavenly/South Lake Tahoe, only cruising at 70mph, if you leave before/after rush hour and don't run into snowstorms up there.

Lots of cheap accomodations if you go late in the season (great spring skiing in March), or you can rent an apartment and pile up with one or two carfuls of friends. Great fun.
