I have a few questions about winter clothings:

I heard that Boston is wet and cold in the winter. So, down jacket/parka is not a good solution (the “down” inside can get wet). Is that true?

Any suggesting of winter jacket/parka that I should buy? Some stores rank jacket from -15, zero degree …

Any favorite store/online website that you will recommend?

Thanks,

Hawaii club! hehe

(sorry.. continue)

Columbia jackets are awesomely warm! They are made for skiers and have some pretty cool colors. Check out their website http://www.columbia.com/

Getting a ski jacket is a good idea, since they're pretty rugged with regard to weather.

I can usually get through the winter with just a wool peacoat, a scarf, earmuffs, and gloves, although when the wind gets whipping for a few days in January, the ski jacket gets busted out.

I got by most of the winter with only a hat and a sweatshirt. I would pull out my ski coat and wear tennis shoes rather than flip flops if I was going to spend a long time outside though.
