Winter Quarter BAR Account Charges

<p>Hi, I just checked my BAR account, for the November 2010 billing period, there are charges for Winter Quarter fees. It says that the payment is due on the 20th of the month following the posting date which would mean payment is due on December 20th. I'm receiving financial aid and according to the disbursement calendar, it's not being disbursed until January 1. Should I be worried?</p>

<p>I believe that they expect us to get a temporary loan to pay before the 20th and then use January’s financial aid to pay off this loan.</p>

<p>i waited for my financial aid last time for the fall quarter, so i guess we will have to do the same for this quarter?</p>

<p>That worked for fall quarter since financial aid was disbursed on 9/13 and fees were due on 9/20.</p>

<p>For winter is is different since fees are due on 12/20/10 and financial aid is disbursed on 1/1/11.</p>

<p>On my bar account, it says Maximum Credit Card Payment Allowed:0, that means they will take care of it right ?</p>

<p>That is correct. If your maximum credit card payment allowed is 0, that means you don’t have to worry about it. Financial aid will be applied to the charges on 1/1/11 when it is disbursed.</p>

are you still being charged for it? because usually by this time in the previous quarters i would have the SHIP charge taken off, but it’s still there right now. so i don’t understand if they will wave it later or not?</p>

<p>Yeah I have ship on there too but I waived it. No idea why it’s there.</p>

<p>I was reimbursed several months ago. You have to waive it every year (in case you didn’t waive it this year).</p>

<p>Wait on SHIP until after 12/1.<br>
You can begin waiving (if you didn’t waive for the year) on the first, so wait until after the first to see if it all kicks in.</p>

<p>wait wait i have a question. I didn’t waive it for this fall quarter, but i want to waive it for winter(even the future), can i still do it after 12/1, or i have to wait till next year to waive it? thanks for answering</p>

<p>If you waived SHIP for the whole year during Fall Quarter, you should see a reimbursement on URSA – mine was posted on 11/30.</p>

<p>The refund for winter was posted 11/30, the refund for fall was posted 9/16</p>

<p>wait… I am a financial aid student and my BAR account says i owe $4000. I have to pay this?</p>

<p>Just go an email today that said
“Any Registration Fee Payment made after Friday, December 17, 2010 will be subject to a $50 late registration fee. This deadline does not pertain to students receiving full financial aid.”</p>

<p>Scroll down to the bottom of your BAR page.</p>

<p>A little chart will appear… it will say roughly 4000 is owed and then, the last line, will say MAX CREDIT CARD PAYMENT. Pay the amount on that line, if 0, then 0</p>
