winter quarter transfer students?

anyone from CC's applying for winter quarter?

I’m applying for winter.

awesome. what are you doing in terms of housing?

Probably going to have to get an apartment since Winter transfers aren’t guaranteed housing. I did read their was a wait list that opens in November for on campus housing, although I’m not sure if that applies for transfers too though.

I’m also applying for winter. I’ve completed their tag requirements so I checked off tag in my application which should give me a very high chance of getting accepted.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do about my housing situation as I reside in LA. I have some uncles in San Diego but I don’t know if they’ll rent me a place in their big place haha.

Do they have a program at the school that offers connections to other students looking for housing or is that something we are going to have to do alone?

I’m kind of a boring nerd who plays the occasional computer game and watches a lot of sports if anyone needs a roommate~

im probably going to do off campus too so when the time comes hit me up rotharek. i dont see the point in spending that much money for on campus when u can get a place of your own.

also does anyone know if it would be possible to take this fall semester ? i wanna go to a foreign country and do some volunteering or something… i will have completed tag and have enough units to transfer after im done with summer school…

another question: does anyone know how financial aid works for winter quarter admits? i applied for fafsa in march but i think it was for fall and i was offered 18-20k from ucsd starting fall…do i have to fill out another fafsa for winter quarter?

i was wondering the same thing for financial aid for winter as i just applied so if anyone knows…

Hey guys:

Apartments:
There are many apartment complexes within 1.5 miles of the campus, most of which reside near the UCSD Shuttle line (shuttles that take you to the center of campus in about 8-15 minutes). Most apartments offer two-bedroom two-bathroom rooms for $1500-$2100. Many rooms open up near December. If you would like, I would recommend to call these apartment managers and ask about the probability of open rooms in December/January. I was a freshman winter admit last year, and was able to get an amazing apartment right in front of the first UCSD shuttle stop. La Regencia and Regents Court are popular apartment complexes.

Roommate Searching:
The UCSD Commuter Listings. This website allows you to search for available roommates, rental listings, or list yourself as an available roommate. However, you’ll need to sign in using your PID number. If you don’t have one, you can use an “access code”. Contact the Commuter Student Services office at 858-534-3670 to receive an access code. Here is the link:
[Commuter Listings](http://commuterlistings.ucsd.edu/UCSDStudents/Search/Default.aspx)

Facebook. Search for UCSD Groups, like UCSD Class of 2012, etc. and post that you are looking for roommates for the following year, or even better, begin a new topic where everyone looking for roommates can list themselves. Here is the link:

Financial Aid: One only needs to apply for FAFSA once a year, between January and the March deadline. Everyone should receive their “preliminary award letter” sometime in the summer, and their “official award letter” sometime afterwards. Sorry, that’s very vague but I can’t remember actual dates… Regardless, I highly recommend calling the UCSD Financial Aid office at 858.534.4480 and speaking with a counselor about your specific status, etc. And as a side note, SdotK, you were offered 18-20K?! Holy Crap!!! lol.

Anyway, good luck fellow UCSD-ers, and let’s keep supporting each other!

I’ll be a winter transfer from Grossmont/Cuyamaca college if I didn’t screw something up in my application.
