Winter rush

When is winter rush? I tried looking online, but couldn't really find it. Also, for those in fraternities, how has it been? I'm trying to meet some new people and am interested in joining one. How expensive is it also, and does anyone have good suggestions for which fraternities are good ones to look into?

Winter rush is in January, just like fall rush is in September. Fraternity life is a great experience for underclassmen, but can get a bit old after the first couple of years (upperclassmen are always less active). I definitely recommend joining one, if you can find a house in which you think you’ll fit, as it will provide great friendships and a ton of fun. You can always drop if you decide it’s not for you- it’s not like it’s a mandatory 4 year commitment. It can be fairly expensive… anywhere from 300-700 a semester. Try to figure out which ones you might like checking out by speaking with friends/people you know in those houses. Don’t take the word of someone over an internet forum regarding into which handful of houses to look.

600 - 700 / semester is nothing if that contains living in the house since most apartments and houses will be that much per month.

baseballa,

That doesn’t include staying there…

oh, i know the non-panhellenic ones, or non-UM affiliated fraternities have dues that are a lot less than those of the main panhellenic ones.
