Best part of my schedule is that my classes are only M T R...
TR from 930 to 450
M from 12 to 5 (with a big break in between two discussions)
and then work on WF ....... so a packed week but i am soooo happy i have class only 3 times a week.

Does anyone know anything about Soc 113?

Malishka I thought you were leaving the school?

I missed something.

but cool.

nam: something along those lines (next quarter hasn't even started and life seems a little miserable already )

what classes are you taking besides the cluster?

She's staying to finish out the year and get a degree in something...

yeah next quarter is looking intense... im down for a chill spring quarter. also i still cant get over how much more school we seem to have compared to semester system, they have it twice, we have it 3x...

to get a degree from ucla you need to complete 45 units there, so i am doing 14,16, and 16 in the summer..... that will be 46 and then i can finish the rest of the upper div at another school on the east coast .

I am trying to get a degree in IDS>

I'm still a newbie when it comes to registering for my classes. I have two question:

Are freshmens allow to register over 19 units a quarter? Because I already registered for my first 4 classes already (English = 5 units, Chem = 4 units, Math = 4 units, History = 4), but when I try to register for Astro 3, I can't enroll because I can't exceed 19 units. Is this just temporary, so that other students can have time to register for their classes, or is it freshmens can't take more than 19 units per quarter. :( I'm trying to get into Astro 3, so I can inflate my GPA because I will have a B in Chemistry 20A this fall quarter >.<

Is Physics 1A doable if I have NO knowledge of physics because I didn't take any physics classes at my HS. :(

I figure 5 classes won't kill me because 3/4 of my classes are really easy for me (except Chem... I'm supposely getting the worst professor ever for Chem20B), and I heard Astro 3 is a joke, so that's my reasoning to take a 5th class. I took 3 classes this quarter, and to my surprise it was pretty easy/boring. I probably spend only 2 hours a day max studying... and I'm going to end up with an A+/A/B- (unless I phail my Chem final, which would be A+/A/C sigh)

you have to petition to go over 19 units. Go to murphy hall.

and i wouldnt suggest 5 classes as a freshman. Your taking on too much . WHy dont u instead get 4 A's in your other classes.

Dude, 5 classes is not advisable. Most SENIORS I know can't handle 5 classes (even if they're easy) and get As. Studying 2 hours a day is plenty. In fact, i don't think I've consistently studied 2 hours a day for a term in my entire life. DO NOT overload yourself.

You have seriously tons of time to get stuff done. Don't rush.

If you're bored, join a club or a team or something. Or get a job. Whatever. But seriously, 100% school alllll the time is a bad idea. and while you were bored with 3 classes this quarter, the jump from 3 to 4 adds a lot of work, let alone 3 to 5. I suggest acquiring a little more experience so that you can be POSITIVE of how much you can handle before you saddle yourself with such an exhaustive schedule.

even after you gauge how much you can handle...still don't take five classes! (so crazy!) taking over 19 units should be done only when it is extremely necessary...your first four classes are core classes already...that will be PLENTY (especially with chem ....and doesn't it make sense to use the time to study more for chem and get a better grade rather than take on another class and settle for some lesser grade?)

trust us...you will thank us next quarter.

5 classes? do it! just drop one later.

Where, exactly, is the logic in him taking the time and effort to petition for extra units just to drop a class once he realizes that when everyone told him 5 classes was too much, we weren't kidding?

Unless you're being sarcastic?

I hate teh intraweb sometimes for its ambiguity.

I would agree with sicks, since then you can gauge which classes/teachers would be better for you. but then again, you might be taking up someone else's spot o.0
btw, unit caps for school of engineering is 21, and for school of arts and architechture it's 20.
