Hi. So I'm a bit unclear of this, but is it possible to transfer during the winter/spring of my second year of CCC if I have IGETC finished and 90 transferable quarter units? Or do I have to wait two full years to be able to transfer?

As far as I am aware the universities aren’t currently accepting winter or spring transfers, you have to wait for fall. Might want to ask your current counselor about that though.

You have about 4 DAYS left to apply to CSU schools. The only one that will probably accept you is the closest one to where you currently attended your CCC. UC Merced is accepting applications as well – all others are closed. You better hurry!!

Sorry, forgot to mention that I am currently a freshman at a CC trying to make my transfer plans. If I am able to get the classes I want, I would theoretically finish IGETC + 90 units by next summer or fall. Are the UCs indefinitely closing winter/spring applications, or is that only for this year?

Also, if I were to finish my prerequisites early, would it be okay to take time off from the CC or would it be better to continue taking classes afterwards?

We can’t tell you. They (the schools) still don’t know either. It all depends on the applicants and how much they admit for the previous Fall quarter.

If I was you, I wouldn’t count on transferring during the Winter/Spring. As a freshmen you should have ample opportunity to finish your prereqs if you get an early jump… Apply after the first year but if that doesn’t work out you’ll have the next year to boost your GPA and finish all prereqs…

And in my opinion, it would be idiotic to take time off. Just take IGETC and breadth classes that boost your GPA or maybe find an internship. Or start saving for a UC…

Hope this helps.

ONLY UCSF BUT YOU BETTER HURRY.
