I'd love some insight on what you all think my chances are for tranfering to UW in winter 2012...

I have a 3.5 GPA with 80 credits - taking 10 more this fall quarter to make 90 and will have my AA. Have my prereq's for History major and will have all prereq's for Poly Sci by the end of this fall quarter (Both subjects, my GPA is 3.8-4.0). Plan on a double major - which is stated in my statement.

Let me know what other info I can give. I'm curious to know what you have to say, because I don't see many people on here with the same GPA as mine - as I'm worried it's too low.

I think you will get in. I applied for Poly sci Winter 2012, GL!!

Thanks, I’m just worried about the new changes on OOS transfers vs. in state tranfers. Or, is it more of a freshman situation vs. transfers. I also am a bit older than most people transfering and hope that benifits me.

as far as i know, they have to accept in state transfers, it is more of a freshman dilemma

they don’t HAVE to accept instate transfers…but they do accept around 30% …

Among community college transfer students, the highest admission priority is given to those with academic associate degrees and those with 90 transferable credits taken in preparation for a professional academic major. Applicants with fewer than 90 credits may also be admitted when early transfer is advisable, but the number of such transfers will remain small.
The University of Washington Seattle generally dedicates thirty percent of its new undergraduate spaces annually to Washington community college transfer students. (Included are Running Start students expecting to earn 40 or more transfer credits at a Washington community college.)
The University also admits applicants who have completed fewer than 40 quarter credits (slightly less than one year of college) at the time of application. However, admission for these applicants is competitive and limited.
