winter transfer??

i have been looking around and i cant seem to find the answer. i'm not 100 % sure but i think ucsb accepts winter transfers and i was wondering if there are any other uc's that accept winter transfers. i'm asking because i will have the 60 units and my major preps (psychology) done by the end of fall 08 and i dont really want to stay another semester at a city college.

if i do stay another semester at cc i could finish the major prep's for chicano studies. would you guys recomend double majoring at ucsb (chicano studies and psychology)?

thanks

sure y not?! if you like the subject go for it!

i think ucsc accepts spring transfers... although you'd have to have applied a while ago :(

oh well it looks like i'm staying one more full year at cc.
so i guess i'm ganna try and double major at ucsb : )
thanks guys

im in exactly the same position. i took a semester off before going to cc after high school so now I dont' want to wait around for fall 09'. I found that with a TAG or TAA you can apply to UCSD in winter or spring; UCSB definately has winter admissions and UCSC has it most years, they will let us know soon. I wasn't really interested in other schools so those are all I know. I'm signing up for a TAG w/ UCSD so I can apply there.

TAG...is that a contract with ucsd or something?? i have heard of it before but i'm not sure what it stands for.

yeah ucsd only accpets tag for winter, sb, sc, and ucr accepts winter transfers

thanks for the info guys! i'm ganna talk to a counselor today and go from there.

i talked to a counselor and he said that winter transfers apply during the summer.

yeah, last summer the application was open from mid july to mid august, and depending on the school, you would find out within about 2 months. And since its winter, it moves fast, meaning you have to get everything done fast in a short time period instead of having the whole summer and part of spring

yea the winter quarter you would be signing up for has applications this coming July. I tried to sign up for a TAG today for ucsd though and they in particular have a really weird agreement where you need tons of different requirements that go way beyond IGETC. winter 09' is the last quarter they are going to use this weird tag agreement before going the universal one that all UC's use. the agreement in place now requires all sorts of year-long sequences, as opposed just just IGETC and pre-req's.

i didnt really think about the time period you get to prepare for everything...you guys think its worth it??

i think you are probably much better off waiting until fall, at least thats what I decided. Applying in winter limits you to only to UC's that allow winter admission, and you are judged against a smaller pool. If you apply in for fall, which is only about 6 months later, you can apply to any school you want.

yeah i guess one more semester is not going to hurt.
