Being from Texas, I am not use to COLD weather at ALL! I started to look for good winter clothes. What online stores have good winter wear....and what brands do ya'll prefer? Help...I'm lost!

Mountain Hardwear, Patagonia, North Face, Ibex, Arcteryx, Marmot - these are hardly fashionable though, but theyll keep you warm.

mountaingear.com, usoutdoorstore.com, sierratradingpost.com

i think you should wait until you get to new york before shopping for winter clothes because 1) they'll have plenty of winter clothes since thats where the intense whether is and since they're a variety to choose from, it also means the price ranges will be pretty broad 2) i guess it's more convenient and you dont have to bring them with you on flights and all that stuff 3) also if you're concerned about fashion, new york's probably got everything

North Face can be fashionable at times.

Ya, im more of a Mountain Hardwear and Arcteryx goon..

Okay...thanx!

A lot of people in New York wear North Face.
But, I also think you should wait until you get to NYU to decide what kind of winter wear to get.

im not sure about now, but in june a lot of stores were having clearance on last year's winter clothes.you should check out your mall to see if they still have these clearances. i got a trenchcoat from express for men discounted from 180 to 35 and a workerwear jacket from anchor blue for 10

dont worry so much about the winter, its not that bad. I got by with a leather jacket and polos until christmas. Then I just got a cheap winter jacket from kohls (just get any old winter/ski jacket or w/e) and put it over my polos and t-shirts. Might want to bring boots too, thats about it.

don't listen to mattistotle because he must be immune to cold :P

It's really cold in NYC in the winter, but mostly from wind. You're also walking a lot, so that makes it worse. I would recommend one of the long down coats - doesn't really matter what brand, but get down. Those are nice and warm :D
