I pretty much went through a two week depression thinking about not getting into my first choice (and a few other things), since all my other choices i could care less about. I still feel pretty ****ty, but now it's more of a proactive approach to failure. Does UCLA accept winter transfers? How effective is reapplying? If I reapply and mark that I've never applied before do they still look to see if I've applied before? I'd basically attribute my non-acceptance to grades I earned during my first 3 semesters at CC. After I transfered to a new CC and got my act together i've maintained a 3.4 or higher every semester. Even though I academically renewed many of the grades at my first CC many C's which I couldn't fix bring my GPA down to a pretty standard level (substandard ucla wise).

Just trying to figure out what to do after I don't get in :\

Should I settle for something like UCR? I think i'd rather die lol (no offense to anyone who wants to go there). I have a bunch of friends who go there and it's just not my atmosphere. definitely dont want to go to a cal state.

Hey all have to say is just because your first choice rejects you does not mean the end of the world. There are always so many diff options.. If you really really want a certain school keep applying... or consider other schools, dont let the big names of schools influence your choices..Cheer up there are many other important things in life to be grateful about...

^^ just like mp3wr said, if you dont' make it to your first chocie, try other options! UCR is a great school as well, you never know until you REALLY STUDY there yourself. What's your major? As far as i know, UCLA only accept engineering majors during winter...

as always, ALL Ucs there always ppl that like it and also people that hated it, i have few friend that didnt liek UCLA and some that do, same with UCR

"If I reapply and mark that I've never applied before do they still look to see if I've applied before?"

Well, that would be lying. It'd look bad and if they don't reject you, they should rescind their acceptance to you.

No offense, but I think that you should be concentrating on pulling your grades up rather than moping about the possibility of not getting accepted. If you don't get accepted, you can always appeal. You may have a good chance if they see an upward trend in your grades and if you get a 4.0 this semester (if you can't, you can explain what other priorities you had that kept you from academic success). And then there is always the chance of reapplying for next fall. Just make sure you do the best you can do. 3.4 isn't that impressive, especially for one semester. If you have other priorities, maybe you should rearrange them (or spend even more time on your academics) since you say you really want to get into UCLA.

The concept of spending the next two years with people who would rather die than consider other schools in the UC system isn't very appealing to me.
