I got into both with probably no variation in financial aid levels since I am out of state for both. In terms of academics, I doubt they are that far apart in engineering levels. In terms of college life though, they seem to be different. I know I shouldn't let my penis guide my college choice, but Madison is known for its fine females, while Tech is famous for the opposite. I enjoy playing video games with friends so Tech seems to support that nerd culture very well. Madison is a big place, so I'm wondering if there are a lot of guys interested in that as well, especially since I'm not really into the party scene that much. I'm mostly looking for a place where I will enjoy myself the most, and so far everyone says Madison is the place to go. Thoughts?

When you visited both places where did YOU feel was a match?

Net price after financial aid grants and scholarships?

The most important thing is which one you feel most comfortable at. Personally for engineering I think GaTech is the better option.

Not sure how it works at GA Tech, but at UW, an admitted student still needs to apply to and be accepted by their program within the College of Engineering. My son is a sophomore in humanities at UW (and loves it), and many of his friends are being admitted now into their various engineering programs.

As a college town, Madison can’t be beat – State St, football, great music shows coming through (though if you don’t like cold weather, you might want to look harder at GA Tech).

^I second the question re: net price for each.
