I am a high school senior from So Cal and want to get a new experience. Price is around the same and I am undecided major wise, but leaning towards business. I am a big sports guy and was just wondering what your input would be... I visited both and got good vibes from each. Im deciding this weekend... thanks!

No comparison. Go with Wisconsin. It is better in every respect except weather.

Life in Madison is good. My CA daughter is in grad school and loving it.

re business major, be sure to read this:

Wisconsin is one of the great universities of the world, and Madison is one of America’s great college towns. SMU is a fine school, but not in the same league. Plus, Big 10 sports are hard to beat.

Fact is I see 80%+ of b majors from good schools like UW getting real jobs with good pay in good cities. Sure grads of lower tier B schools suck. Who cares. So do liberal arts grads of crappy colleges.

Thanks for all the input guys1
