Wisconsin vs. Minnesota?

Hi everyone,

I was accepted as a transfer student to the department of economics at UW-Madison and UMN-Twin Cities but I don't know where to go so I just need some advices since the confirmation date is getting close.

Does anyone know which school is better when it comes to econometrics and general economics? Which school offers more opportunities for internship in the economics filed?

Thank you!!!!

The Econ department at UW is top of the line. Just google it if you want to see who they compare too.

Here is the ranking.
[Best Economics Programs | Top Economics Schools | US News Best Graduate Schools](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-humanities-schools/economics-rankings)

U of Minn is slightly higher in this list. But I would say they are similar.

Aren’t those graduate school rankings? I think OP is looking for undergrad.

For a dept grad =undergrad at a research U.
U MInn is stronger in macro while UW is better in micro and econometrics. Most feel UW is rising and UMinn is falling at this time in econ. UW made major hires and Minn had major losses.

Consider the overall campus and choose the one that seems the best to you.

^^What major losses at Minnesota has there been barrons?

Their #1 guy Prescott left for ASU. Also Kehoe, and Kocherlakota. Those are recent ones. Chari is supposed to be looking at Yale.
