Hi there, I recently just graduated from my Junior year of high school and I’m wondering what you think my chances are of getting into UW Madison.
I go to a competitive, college prep school in downtown Minneapolis.
Unweighted GPA: 3.97
Weighted GPA: 4.21
I took 2 honors courses freshman year, 3 sophomore year and my AP classes to date are: APUSH and AP English 11 - also going to take AP Calc, AP Physics, and AP English 12 next year as well (5 total AP Courses)
ACT Composite: 28
English: 32
Math: 29
Reading: 24
Science: 25
I have already taken the ACT three times 1st: 26, 2nd: 28, 3rd: 26 and I don’t know if I should take the time to take it again in the fall?
Extracurriculars/Honors:
- Captain of the Football Team (All-Conference Honors)
- Varsity Track
- LaSallian Ministry
- Symphonic Band (All-Conference Honors)
- Altar Service for my Church
- National Honor Society Member
I also went on a week-long service trip to Colorado Springs to help rebuild and restructure the habitats that had been affected by forest fires.
Lastly, I currently have a brother that goes to UW Madison and will be entering his sophomore year there and both of my parents also went to UW Madison as well - which I suppose makes me a legacy but I don’t know if that will help me or not in the admissions process.
Thanks for any feedback!
