I'm a senior in high school and here's my situation:

I really want to go to an undergrad film school, so I applied to many film production programs. I have narrowed down my choices to:

Chapman, Wisconsin (Madison), Colorado (@ Boulder), and Penn State (University Park)

Here's my dilemma:
I really liked Wisconsin for it is a big school, and the college atmosphere and student life is really great. But what about the film production program? I really don't know much about it, and, while it's not as good as Chapman's, is it any good? How are the facilities? How are the proffesers? Is there enough equipment, and how is the equipment?

It's hard to beat Chapman for its LA location. I am not familar with the com arts department @ Wisconsin. What don't you try to learn/e-mail more about the UW program with one of the advisors? Identify yourself as admitted student trying to decide between Chapmand and UW. Also ask to be introduced to current students ...

I believe UW is more oriented to film studies than production. Despite that an amazing number of top directors and producers have come from UW including Michael Mann, Zuckers/ (Airplane, Ghost, etc.), Errol Morris (doc maker) and lots of TV people.

I can't speak to the undergraduate level, but at the grad level UW is oriented to film studies. There is no production. UW-M has a production program.
