Another thing to consider...I am glad we scheduled the procedure with a sufficient time buffer before my D is due back at school (dorms open on Jan 14th for her). I did not realize that her oral surgeon wanted her to make a follow-up visit to see him---so, she really needs to be around home to be able to do that.</p>
<p>Wow, that is a long time for him to still be in pain. My D did not need the percocet after the 2nd day and by the 4th day did not need any pain meds. She did have to take 5 days of amoxicillin. Our oral surgeon gave us special ice packs that slip into a long, thin pouch and the pouch fits around the jaw...velcroed closed on top of the head (a wonderful invention).</p>
