I've been accepted to the WISE Program and i was wondering if anyone who knows or is currently in this program can talk about it..I also wanted to know how how the dorms at Gray College are and what type of dorm it is (corridor or suite). If we accept to be in this program, do we automatically have a room reserved??

Gray is corridor-style; it's in Mendelsohn Quad, which is next to the Stony Brook Union and across the parking lot from the football stadium. It's probably the most convenient of the residence halls on the north side of campus, as it's the closest building to the center of campus.

Yes, you have a room reserved -- but you still have to pay your housing deposit. If you don't deposit, WISE will assume you're commuting.

congrats! WISE is a great program to be in:)

Typically first year, it was really nice because we got to go to so-called "SSO" classes which were basically social gatherings. Take advantage and meet lots of people that way if you can, before the workload starts to pile on:) As a member of WISE, it's advantageous because many professors (especially those in the Women's Studies classes you'll most likely be taking for Dec G) love WISE students and it can only work in your favor:)
