This is my, finally, at last, COMPLETE chance thread. Everything colleges are going to see, minus essays and recommendations of course, is available here now and awaits your judgment! So here we go...

About Me:
- White female
- Ohio resident
- Rising senior

My School:
- Public high school (which rarely ever sends students to top schools)
- Class size around 260, I'm ranked ~10th.
- I have not taken any APs because they're not offered until senior year at my school. I will be taking the 2 AP classes we have (English and Calc AB) next year.
- Took the most rigorous curriculum offered, minus 1 class (Honors Physics) because I know taking it would kill me.
- GPA: 3.957 UW. All A's except a B in Advanced Precalc.

Test Scores:

SAT: 2290
730 CR, 760 M, 800 W, 11 essay.

ACT: 34
35 E, 32 M, 33 R, 35 S, 11 essay.

SAT II's:
Literature - 750
Math 2 - 780
U.S. Hist - 590 (didn't study, will retake in Nov, but most places only ask for two tests)

PSAT: 234
That should guarantee me semi-finalist and probably finalist, yes?

Extracurriculars:

Public Forum Debate - 4 years.
- Masses of awards on the local level.
9th: State Qualifier, National Qualifier.
10th: State Qualifier
11th: State Qualifier, Top 16 in state, National Qualifier, TOC Qualifier.

Cross Country - 4 years
I ran varsity in 9th and 10th grade, was injured in 11th, and since all seniors letter, I will have one from 12th for 3 total by graduation.

Quiz Bowl - 2 years
11th: Varsity - County champions, National Qualifiers.

Art Program - 3 years.
I had a trophy-winning piece in the school-wide show, meaning top 50 pieces out of maybe 1500, both 10th and 11th grade. Also every piece I've done earned some kind of best in class recognition, given out through ribbons.

Other things I do... I started learning to play guitar during 10th grade and have continued to improve ever since. I was also really involved with spelling bees in middle school, earning the title of runner-up in our big regional bee, but that option wasn't available to high schoolers. I volunteered at an animal shelter freshman year but got in so few hours it's hardly worth mentioning.

That's pretty key: I am very lacking in the service hours and work experience department. I didn't have enough community service to make NHS and while your advice that I do some hours this summer is legitimate and well-intentioned, the chances of me actually growing up and doing some work are slim to none.

The Colleges:

First and foremost, I want to become some kind of writer. I'm planning to major in English, Sociology, or some combination of the two, at places where a Journalism major is not offered.

Northwestern (Medill School of Journalism) - Early Decision.
Stanford
Yale
Brown
Georgetown
WUStL
Tufts
USC (Annenberg School of Communication)
Boston College - Legacy (I've read that BC accepts 50% of legacy applicants, and that's including those who are somewhat underqualified, so I think this makes a good safety, because I'd be perfectly happy to attend here and feel pretty sure I'll get in).

On a last note, my essays should be solid, and my recommendations are going to be outstanding (debate coach who was also my math teacher, history teacher who adores me).

So with all that in mind... anyone care to chance me?
