What are my chances for:

Johns Hopkins RD
University of Pittsburgh RD
Carnegie Mellon RD
University of Pennsylvania RD (a reach I know)

Leadership position:
Not much, but I hold a treasurer position in History Honor Society.

Awards:
-Wordmasters winner in my school during 11th grade
-Academically recognized by the National Spanish Honor Society and National Math Honor Society
-First junior volunteer in a nursing unit department in the hospital I go to in the history of junior volunteers (great experience).
-There’s other little awards like Honor Rolls and others

From what I’ve seen, people expect EC’s outside of school that are “passion” invoked, but your academic stats are so solid that I think with good Essays and meaningful Rec’s, Penn is easily possible. You may not have won national awards for piano, but you have a very solid academic category and an average (well average for those schools) EC portion. Best of luck though, sometimes you might get lucky and other times you might catch the admissions officer on a bad day? You never know but let’s hope he’s feeling positive ;)

On a side note, I live a block from John’s Hopkins and although it’s small and the city isn’t… yeah you know, it isn’t the most cultural city… it’s a nice place.

Thanks for the responses.
I am working hard on those essays and those recommendations should be stellar.

Yea, as far as EC’s go, I am more of a volunteering person than someone who likes leading numerous clubs in school. I like volunteering and that’s what I do. But my EC’s are probably going to be the weakest part of my application because they are average.

^ I know their selectivity in that order, but I started this thread to see other people’s opinions on my chances of acceptance in each of these schools.

Your school stats are excellent, but your SAT is a tad weak in comparison. I’d say Johns Hopkins will be slightly reach, and UPenn is a reach for all mere mortals. The other two should be fine.
