hi everyone im a college student and i plan on transfering and going to a new school next semster…the problem is im currently failing all 3 of my classes at my school i had a rough beging to the semsterim paying for it now…its mid semster but i still have time to withdraw…if i withdrawl would i still receive financial aid for the new school i plan on transfering too…
You would have to look at the financial aid breakdown you’re getting from your current college. Anything you’re getting from the federal government might be transferable, but some of it will be from your current college and that will all go away obviously .
It depends on the college you transfer into. Most colleges I’ve worked with will allow the student to start over, or at worst, have a probationary semester if the student is transferring in with failing grades or Ws from another college. However, I do know a few community colleges that automatically put the student on a denial list if they are transferring in under those circumstances, and they have to appeal to receive aid even the first semester. I would contact the financial aid office of each college you’re considering transferring to in order to find out their school’s particular policy on transferring in with failing grades or Ws.
