withdraw from a class?

<p>I'm currently a junior and have a 4.2 weighted overall GPA.. i'm taking 5 AP classes this year and so far am doing fairly well but i'm also taking journalism as an elective and it is pulling my GPA down from a 4.91 to a 4.78 even though i have a 100% in it! it's just such a waste of time as a class and i want to drop it so badly but the time has passed to drop a class without it showing up on my transcript.</p>

<p>should i just keep the class? because i'm really not sure how bad a withdrawal in this type of a class looks on college transcripts because i am aiming for an ivy league school.</p>

<p>Keep it. A withdrawal would look much worse. Course rigor is more important than just GPA, getting an A+ in an unweighted class is definitely not going to hurt you at all (although your time may have been better spent not taking it, withdrawing will be bad.)</p>
