That is the question...

Basically I'm enrolled in a 5 unit Japanese 2 course at another community college that is not the one I attend full time. I took J1 at my main cc and then found trying to continue my studies with a different teacher was unwise, as I am only going to receive a C in the course. My question is this: Withdraw or not withdraw?

If I keep the 5 unit class and the C I'll need 8 more units after Spring to reach the 60 unit minimum but it would drag my overall GPA down to around a 3.2. (I calculated ahead). I also got C's during summer session due to a car accident and I'll be getting a C in math since math and I hate one another. This trend of C's worries me.

If I do withdraw and re-take the 4 unit course at my main cc to get a better grade, it'd boost my GPA to at least a 3.3 but that'd mean having two W's on my transcript and having to go through the whole class again.

So I'm wondering what looks better to UC's (just now saw the UC forum, oops!), having two withdrawals and a slightly higher GPA or having a slight trend of C's in the middle of my transcript but having completed the units sooner?

The last day to withdraw from the course is the 20th of November and naturally my appointment with my counselor is the 21st so I am desperate for people's advice! What will make me a more competitive student? I hate the idea of giving up on this course and having to re-take it but I don't want to be dismissed by a low GPA I could have fixed.

Thank you!
